Tailgate!

Have suffered small indentation and very slight crack on my rear tailgate near the Landrover badge.. Have been told because it is made of plastic composite the whole thing has to be changed over at a cost of approx $5000! Would have to be done on insurance and I would be paying excess of $1100. Can't believe it can't be repaired. Have had a quote from a duco specialist who says he can repair for about 10% of replacing the tailgate. Just hope there are no ramifications further down the line. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!
1983 2 door Range Rover ARB Bar X9000 winch ARB Rear Bar now semi retired.
Many big trips done in this one.
1982 Rangerover nearly restored.
22 Defender D250 with lots of stuff for outback touring
Nice 2013 Freelander TD4 manual (for daughter to learn on) with much better stereo compared with previous SD4 SE with Meridian which sounded bad!
2013 Land Rover Defender ute.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I had an accident with hitting a safety barrier when reversing my first Evoque in very cold weather and a gentle tap caused a 50cm crack and all the interior trim to become a million matchstick sized fragents. Not only do you need a new shell but they only get supplied with all the things like spoilers, wipers, antenna and glass pre-installed. None of that stuff was damaged on my car but it was all replaced and cost me (I didn't claim on my insurance stupidly) £1800 for a complete new tailgate...... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Sounds like it's worth a try to get it repaired. Mark
