EGR Blank update...

Forgot to mention.....after help from a forum member, my EGR's have been blanked on my 2007 RRS TDV6 for 2 days without an engine management light on yet.
I kind of expect it to come on but nothing as yet.
I'm on a 7A chassis number.... Thumbs Up

Will keep you posted.

Do you reckon you've noticed any improvement?

Even if the valves were fine getting all that filth out of the throttle body has got to help a little. Uck! It never fails to amaze me. Shocked Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Well....it maybe my imagination because I know my engine is finally breathing fresh air but it feels more lively.
I also don't get the big black cloud behind me when it kicks down. Thumbs Up I was born with a photographic memory. Shame it didn't develop!

Mine was a pipe removal and blanking plates.
Even if the MOT regime is changed, I can't see it affecting cars built before the MOT change date.
You just can't do it retrospectively.
It would be like telling every motorist that they must fit DRL's because new cars have them. I was born with a photographic memory. Shame it didn't develop!

cossiedave, as yours is a EU3 model, there is no need for a software patch and you don't even have an engine MIL to illuminate! Wink

GH, like Gaz's, yours will require emulators and/or a software patch (usually applied as part of a remap) to prevent the MIL from illuminating. It has been known for the light to take many months to show itself so it's not unlikely for it not to appear immediately. Thumbs Up

I hope too that the MOT change will not affect earlier vehicles, but, the worst case scenario is that emulators would have to be fitted and the pipes put in place with only single blanking shims. This would then be undetectable to an MOT tester. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Cheers LFW that makes perfect sense to me Thumbs Up Just to ask the question if the pipes were left in place, would you blank at the top or the bottom ?? (on the EGR valve) 2007, HSE, Cairnes Blue, Factory tints, Love it !!!

Bottom, as it's flat. Thumbs Up

Would be nice and easy if someone could come up with something that'd fit the top end though. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
