Erm....thats odd (Spare Wheel Question)

Hi Guys,

I have just checked out my spare, it doesn't match the other 4 in the car. Its a full sized spare as you can see. Also, its been used which I was not informed of when I bought the car (as a demo model).

Is this normal and if not do I have any recourse with the dealer?

Pics attached.

The wheels have been sprayed black but to save money they didn't spray the spare which makes sense. I would def ask them to refurbish and spray wheel 2006 RRS Supercharged 4.2 HST muthuaflecka!

From the dealer...

Hi James, I believe the previous owner had the wheels ‘dipped’ with a company near him. The spare would just require the same treatment if you wanted to get it the same colour!

That soudns quite harsh to me, I bought the car in good faith assuming the wheels will be the same. What re your thoughts guys? 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

I think it is a bit harsh to be expecting the dealer to change the LR spec of a wheel. They've supplied the same style as the originals, but a previous owner had all but one coated.

I think TBH that it's one of those that you should take on the chin and colour it yourself if you wanted it done.

Other views vary of course, but that's my view. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

I can see your point here, however they should have advised on this. I was told the car was taken to london and returned imediately as the previous owners gun would not fit in the boot and it then sat on the forecourt until I bought it.

I have in effect been sold a non-standard vehicle without being advised, in turn I had not (I have now) told my insurance company so I might not have been insured! 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

That's a big gun!

I am picturing a cannon or a .50 cal sniper rifle now!

I assume it was posh shotguns in cases like you see in full fat RRs?

It apparently had to fit sideways in the boot, not lengthways or diagonally....I tend to fear I was spun a porky by the stealer... 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

Hi JSR2014,

Of course you may expect that the car has all the same wheels if you buy from a dealer.

That's one of the reasons a buyer decides to spend the extra money and buy from a dealer instead of buying of the internet.

So don't accept the no can't do answer they always try to put you of with and just go over in person and demand from the manager a for you corrective and satisfying action on behalf of the dealer. With apologies.

While you at it, spray all four of rims in the color of the spare.
Black wheels are for wanna be gangsters with guns.
Guns so big, they don't even fit a RRS... Yawn SW

Sometimes it is not enough to do our best;
sometimes we must do what is required.
