Gearbox judder TDV8 and the Mega Flush !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all
I had some issues with my gearbox on my RRS TDV8 ,small amount of judder at approx 2000rpm and some harsh gear changes . I ordered a kit comprising of a new sump ( metal ) filter and replacement oil.
I drained the oil when hot approx 4.5 ltrs came out. I then replaced the old sump and filter. I refilled the gearbox again only about 5 ltrs went back in out of the 9 ltrs supplied . This lessened the gearbox issues but did not cure them . So after much research and information gained from this site and the Disco site I called Mike from MMP aka (Disco_Mikey).

Well what can I say Mike is a very knowledgeable and professional guy. His gearbox flushing machine and software is spot on. Mike walked me through every step as the work was done. A major plus for me was being able to watch the process from start to finish . I always do all my own work on the RRS as I have been stung before by so called specialists but that's a different story. That said there are some things you just can not do yourself . A gearbox flush is one of them as you just can not change the complete systems oil by just draining alone .

Mike's set up is impressive and makes a difficult job look easy .After the oil was completely changed as I witnessed the clean fresh oil coming out of the car through the flushing equipment . The gear box was reset and a calibration was performed. The gearbox level was topped up and checked .

On the road the RRS feels fantastic smooth gear changes and no judder . I no it's early days yet as I have only done a few miles But I am very impressed with the results . I also no that if the gearbox is already worn and I have not cought it in time then the symtoms will return . At this time though I have done with Mikes help all I can ,and am over the moon with the results and service.

If any of you guys require a gearbox flush I can not recommend Mike from MMP (Disco_Mikey) enough top man and a fantastic service on your doorstep!!!!!!

Excellent news Carl Thumbs Up

Though I did flush a TDV8 later in the day, with 99k miles, and lots of brass filings came out of that box...
