power boot lid

hi there has anyone on here attempted to do a power boot lid conversion on there pre 2008 range rover sport? if so any advise on how to go about it please

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Rimini Red

I was looking for some new struts for my tailgate on eBay the other day and spotted some of the electric ones off the newer models and thinking the same thing. I guess it would be quite a complex job as there would be no wiring loom present to tap into on the older models Sad
