Could this be a sign of the battery condition?

When driving with the stereo on at a reasonable volume (CD, Radio or iPod) the volume will suddenly drop significantly with out me touching it.

I don'y do much mileage in my 2008 RRS SC...could this be a sign of the battery condition and that it's on the way out? It's normal for a new battery every few years on these Gulf Spec cars so I'm getting prepared for a non-starter one of these days....maybe this is an indication of battery failure?

Thx. Ra-Ro Sport Super Dooper Charged.

If the stereo displays the message "low power mode" with the engine running then it's an indication of a problem. Either battery or alternator.

Might be worth investing in a smart charger (Ctek units are popular hereabouts) to help top up the battery. This will prolong battery life and should help the alternator too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

No messages of any type....it's in for service next week and also for 'soft brakes' so I'll make a note on the docket to see what comes back.
