Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

It did on mine, put 60p worth of unleaded in it before I realised the misfuelling device was trying to tell me to stop!
Luckily my tank was empty so reset it with the plastic tool thingy and just brimmed it with diesel, and all was fine!
Cheers

Yup.

Manifolds. 2 or 3 fuel pumps. Lots of injectors.

Bet a flush and refill would be good too. 2022 P440e AB

Some car insurance policies do cover misfueling

Just for info, I did misfuel a prior shape RRS with 33 litres of petrol on a quarter full tank. After 2 days it refused to start. Called LR Assist, who diagnosed immediately what I had done, and offered 2 options - either recover to the dealer and pay a fortune, or keep brimming the tank daily with derv and hope the fuel pump/s work as they are lubricated with the diesel. The petrol sits atop the diesel so the car refused to start once it hit petrol. I took the latter option and the car went fine for another year and 15k miles before it was time to swap. So, with the car refusing to start once it hit petrol , little or no damage ensued.

With the new RRS maybe this is less possible, but I feel for you. Hope this is of use.

Exactly... And that's the scandal here... We cannot afford not to be insured for misfuelling on a RRS (imho).
- Since the misfuelling device failed (which is chronic if one can easily cause £9ks worth of damage).

Seems like a supermarket sweep opportunity to change out everything....

I've asked Peter at Land Rover for JLR's view on what needs to be changed out for a max 4 mile journey on some Petrol. but all manifolds injectors and pumps... 20 hours labour. £9,5k... Seems like a rip off. Which i'm not pleased about, regardless of the fact that I am insured for it.

I got a view from another dealer.... He reckons its a rip off too... But i'm looking forward to hear what JLRs procedure is for this. Maybe the dealer is just following the rules.. 2022 P440e AB

I did approx 120 miles on my fuel/derv mixture before it refused to start and then had to call LRA out. On filling the tank at the petrol station, fortunately adjacent to the car park I was in, it restarted immediately. I brimmed it daily and drove with my heart in my mouth for the first week or two.

i would ask their view on why the device they designed to stop this failed and has lead to a £9K claim on your insurance and what are they going to do about it
