RRS thefts

Hi all. Firstly my thoughts to all keyless RRS owners who are having so much grief... Censored My 07 TDV8 obviously has keyed entry, so my questions are:

1 - Are the little sods nicking key entry Sports too, even with steering lock on?

2 - Secondly, what do you all reckon to the Halfords Stoplock Pro? Its only £50 so well worth buying if it fits?

Thanks chaps Thumbs Up

Tbh mate I don't worry about stuff like that. You can't live your life in fear and you certainly shouldn't be adjusting the way you live based on the scum of society.

If mine gets nicked then it gets nicked and life will go on.

It's only keyless go models. Older one still need a blade configured to lock to turn. Keyless go just needs key to be within .3m of module to start the car by button. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

I have it on good authority stoplock/bar type are useless Sad

I bought disklok as they apparently are more effective Thumbs Up

I agree with comments above to a point but inconvenience would be a Censored especially as mine is discontinued and new model £20k more before insurer offers stupid settlement figure Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I agree, stop locks are useless and I speak with experience.
Years ago on a mk3 Golf Gti my stop lock broke, key was useless so I took a screw driver and hammer to it and it was off in no time at all.

Personally I don't bother with any extra devices, if they want it they'll take it, it's insured so why worry about it....

Nice to see that the police do sometimes get them back though;

Has anyone heard anything from Land Rover about whether they have come up with a way to prevent thefts lately?

Yes, agree to a point but I'm with Muddywheels on the hassle factor. If a £50 lock could guarantee that was avoided it would seem money well spent... Confused

There's no way a £50 lock will guarantee anything other than you've just spent £50. 2015 Golf R DSG

True but the disklok is Thatcham rated and will make things more difficult for the Censored Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

A stoplock pro is not the same as a stoplock, a stoplock pro is also thatcham rated and extremely difficult to remove. Need....more.....mud, must.....off.....road.

Have just looked at stoplock pro and can see the improvement taking into account the originals weakness Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
