Special Order?

Got my deposit down and firming up spec on a SDV6 AB Dynamic with Stealth Pack.

Question is, has anyone been able to do anything special / bespoke to their spec like a special colour or SVR seats for instance?

I ADORE the Estoril Blue but spec builder has it only on the SVR. GUTTED.

In the meantime, I need my R8 V10 to sell so shout if you know anyone looking! Very Happy

Ha, had thought it might be the case.

It's just the colour I am after. Coming from Audi, they have 'Exclusive' where you can pay a bit extra for any colour in the model range or quite a bit more for any colour you desire.

From what I understand, a bespoke colour is £10k extra. However, I would doubt whether Estoril would be available (for now) on a non SVR.

Like Phil says, give our bespoke division a call. I'm sure my colleagues there will be able to help with all manner of things.

You probably won't get Estoril as that is SVR specific, as are the seats, but that's not to say you can't have any other blue.

I have no idea whether that £10k figure is correct, it's rather more than the Porsche equivalent which they call "Paint to Sample".

Keep in mind though that you should really want the colour. I can't see it adding anything come re-sale time and it may even count against you. Mark

Equally, if you ever think you'd regret not having it, then buy it. I agonised over the decision between sports seats and Cobalt blue on my 987 Boxster in 2005.
I really (really) wanted the sports seats but couldn't really afford both options, and then the Dealer Principal said "ask your self this; will you ever look out of your bedroom window at a Lapis Blue Boxster and think "I wish I'd had Cobalt"? If the answer's yes...."

I bought both Rolling with laughter

For the record, having now sold my Evoque, the only option which mattered to WeBuyAnyCar.com was the panoramic roof, a couple of hundred against an option cost of £1200. The LR dealer didn't care at all and didn't attach any value to ANY of the options on the car.

In Land Rover land, options are extraordinarily bad news when it comes to resale. It may or may not matter to you but I'm not banking on the £4k audio upgrade in my SVR turning out to be a good investment.

Of course, you may want to have that custom paint colour but it will be worth nothing after you've driven it out of the showroom. Mark

If you buy cars thinking of resale value, chances are you end up pretty upset most of the time!

Personally, a car for me is something to enjoy and make my own.

I'll look elsewhere for investments!

Congrats on the SVR order, very jealous! Thumbs Up

In Land Rover land or any auto land, speccing costly options, audio , paint, timed heating etc count for very little post new in resale.
Ref paint : as far I can see the colour pallette is the same throughout the range , barring SVR, though I've not checked the Disco Sport yet. So, Loire is the only Blue. Bespoke colour is apparently a £10k uplift - a SVR was ordered in a bespoke non Aintree Green so I'm told, which cost the above. But why Aintree wasn't good enough, I've no idea! It looks great on the FFRR!

Also, on the FFRR associated site, there are some photos of this model in Montalcino, and look splendid! But for me the Sport needs Sport(y) colours, Montalcino looks good on the FFRR and Defender as it is a slow, quite classy colour!

Thank you, I've added about £11k options to my SVR and I'm expecting to see nothing back at resale but then I'm planning to keep the car for a long time.

I've seen the SVR in production at Solihull and supposedly mine was built last week. That said, I saw no right hand drive cars on my visit and I have not heard of any being delivered in the UK. It wouldn't surprise me at all if all SVRs were being held in Gaydon - which is like some sort of gigantic holding pool - pending the installation of new security features and software upgrades.

It's one thing to produce them in Solihull, another thing entirely to release them for sale. Mark
