Park Brake Fault

Driving short distance to work, Park Brake fault light came on, I stopped the car turned the engine off, then started it up again the light went out. Confused

this a commom thing? or do i go through the pain of ringing my local dealer and have it checked?

This has happened to me on a couple of occasions - nothing came of it. I wouldn't worry unless it starts happening regularly... Very Happy

I had this problem and was told it was fairly common and usually due to a lack of lubrication in the park brake mechanism (which apparently does not feature in the service lists). Local independant fixed it for me for free in a few minutes. Gordon Kerr
