New RRS Ordered!!!

Hi all
New RRS Sport Ordered and the dealer has told me to expect to wait 6 months
15.5 Model HSE DYNAMIC 3.0 SDV6 306hp
Santorini Black
Ebony/Lunar with Ebony
Sliding Panoramic Roof
Automatic High Beam Assist ?
Red Brake Calipers
Privacy glass
Fixed Side Steps ?
Premium Carpet Mats ?
Heating Steering Wheel
Interior Mood Lighting ?
Extra Large Washer Bottle
Very exited and it will be replacing a 2009 RRS HSE 3.6 SDV8
There are a few extras I have ticked which have question marks on them and wanted to know what peoples thoughts are especially on the mood lighting option. Also I haven't upgraded the sound system. My current car has the HK system and I never listen to music only to LBC, talk sport or 5 live!? So not sure if I can justify the extra £1000.
What are peoples thoughts?
Its going to be a long 6 months!!!!!! Big Cry

Carmad nice spec sure you will love the car
high beam assist cant see the point really
side steps i havent bothered on new car but did have them on last sport dont miss them so wont be bothering on this car or future orders
car comes with mats and they seem pretty good
interior mood lighting seems a waste of time as others have said its only a couple of lights not worth it to me
as for sound system i have standard and i find it sounds ok not that i am an expert thats my opinion but you have to choose what spec you really want but im sure you will find it a great place to be hope the next 6 months dont go to slowly Thumbs Up 2016 bmw x5 40d m-sport space grey

I wouldn't bother, aircon is powerful enough to cool the car during the summer, and heated seats warm up quickly in the winter. Thumbs Up Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

It takes some time for the cooling effect to actually have any benefit and I personally wouldn't add them as an option.

As already mentioned, High Beam Assist and Mood Lighting - both complete waste of money. I've disabled HBA as I find it too slow/insensitive to be useful and hardly notice the mood lighting even when it's completely dark (it is only two small LEDs in the centre armrest - not in the footwells or door cards as I'd expected).

Dickie. SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

SOLD - 64 plate Aleutian Silver Supercharged

SOLD - 63 plate Corris SDV6 Autobiography

I agree about the mood lighting - same with Porsche - and the only mood it creates with me is a bad one when I think of the waste of money. Mark

Was the mood lighting not improved for 15MY like it was in the L405. It runs in the doors and all the way down the centre console on a strip there?

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

Ref the blurb from the RRS config site, this it was it says:

"Customer Configurable Interior Mood Lighting
£230.00

New levels of ambient refinement and personalisation have been reached with the option of customer configurable lighting. Using a combination of coloured LEDs, this feature allows occupants to vary the shade, changing the ambience of the cabin to suit their mood. There are ten colours in total to suit every taste and mood, ranging from Spark Blue through to Ice White and Racing Red."

Whether this is any different or an improvement from the existing or non existing marginal glow in the dark from a couple of 0.00001 watt diodes that are of less illumination than a recently deceased glowworm remains to be seen (sic).

Unless you ordered an autobiography which has it as standard

Well the AB may have it as standard but that doesn't mean it's free. You can only see the lighting at night and the light from the dashboard and headlights - even if you are otherwise somewhere which is pitch black - swamped the effect of the ambient lighting. It's a pointless option in my opinion. Mark

In the mood.

A fair few cars have lights that shine down from the roof to the gear lever area, Golfs and Mk 2 Ford Focus to name a couple.

They are subtle and you can't change the colour.

When fitted with mood lighting on the Sport as you all know, you can change the colour. To red as well to match the dash when in Dynamic mode.

Unlike in Marks car, we can see the lights around the gear lever area. Even more so if you have the Central display in standby.

Ok it is not a game changer but it does work. Is it worth the money as an option. No.

Do we use it? Yes.
