Door panel cushioning sagging and lost shape

The top of the door panel .... where 90% of us rest our elbows/arms while on long drives

On mine the foam or whatever substandard material they have chosen this time as backing for the leather has completely lost

its elasticity/ cushioning and has gone flat , so there is now a dip the leather ...

Looks bad and again i'm disappointed that this can happen after 3 months and 3,500 miles...

The foam around the rest of the top of the door panel still has "spring" to it.....

Only had one issue with my last 12my RRS in 3 years.... !!!! 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

This is bad.

I was worried that the SVR doesn't have arm rests, and this photo of the centre box does nothing to help - http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/89838/range-r...pictures#2

It's not good at all Phil... looks really cheap already..

The foam in the arm rests, (that you don't have on the SVR) is super strong and firm... as in all RR's

I'll see in the morning what the foam under the centre box is like , if its the same consistency as the door top..

that box top will look like cr..p in no time at all....

Update
Phil.... The padding on the centre console is rock solid.... same as the arm rest.... you should have no problems 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

It's the position most of us use to rest our arms.... never had the padding collapse on any of my other RR's

Bottom line is that Land Rover leather quality is cheap and sub-standard. Old habits die hard... Mark

the oils from my skin have been taken into my leather. luckily baby wipes seems to leave it all natural looking, but the leather definitely seems very porous MY10 HSE 3.0 TDV6 : Santorini Black : Ebony Interior w/Anigre wood : Privacy Glass (total) : Sunroof : Sidesteps : Hybrid TV : Detachable Tow Kit : Spare Wheel Cover : 22" Dished Supersports

Hey Mark... it's not the leather or the shine i'm bothered about...

It's the foam or padding underneath the leather thats gone completely flat...

Bigpimp ... i'll give baby wipes a go for the shine .. 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

My leather seats are already sagging. My car is 9 months old and done 7,000 miles...not impressed! What annoyed me most was an a Censored hole salesman told me bluntly, "the leather is designed to stretch and sag." I don't think so!!

Unfortunately my salesman left so will have to find one that doesn't talk Censored Evil or Very Mad

Apart from that and the rear camera I still love my car. Very Happy Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Looks crap. The doors and dash are not leather in the RRS - perhaps on Autobigraphy trims bar certainly not on others. It is stitched plastic.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out the dash (excluding the binnacle top), door and centre box are not leather.

That's interesting, and good to hear.

The old Sport had the Extended Leather Pack, which was standard on the Autobiography, and this only added leather to the dash top. When I asked SVO whether the stitching on the dash and door of my SVR could be changed the only possibility given was the binnacle and steering wheel (not boss) - hence my assumption that only the seats, binnacle and steering wheel are leather.

ETA: Found this:

Quote:
The focus on quality and traditional craftsmanship can be seen in the beautifully tailored twin-needle stitching used to finish the leather seats and leather-wrapped interior surfaces. Range Rover designers specify all aspects of the stitching, from the length and direction of the stitches, to the spin, thickness, and material of the thread, and even the size and shape of the needle.

this doesn't bode well for the future of the interior of the sport, I too have noticed the door top getting a slight indention from my elbow, so am trying to change my driving habits, and rest my elbow on the lower part of the door trim.

Have you also noticed the nasty plastic lower A and B post panels, LR seem to have gone for cheapness over quality on the new sport in places! Sad some of my Previous cars

In my short period of ownership, I tried adjusting my driving position as well...

but my arm just keeps going back to the top roll of the door... it's at the natural and most comfortable height...

It's how i've driven my various RR's for many years...

Anyway .. it's added to the growing list of issues that need to be addressed ... 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's
