Rear seat belt too short for baby seat

We have a Cybex (Pallas ) baby seat.....

When I put it in the rear seat of my RRS the belt is too short to reach the buckle...

It fits easily in my girlfriend's Audi rear seat .....with plenty strap to spare....

Could it be the dreaded LR cost cutting again. Shocked .....

Check seat belt lengths first before buying Guys.. 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Does the seat not have iso fixing's on it? they are much safer than the seatbelt anyway

It is isofix ....as you say it's much safer..... this uses both isofix and the seatbelt

The system is different in so far as the belt does not go around the child but around a huge bumper in front of them....

in the event of a crash it distributes all the forces all over the body rather than through the neck primarily ...

it's a brilliant system..... as I say.... my girlfriends Audi has an extra 12 inches of belt spare....

Image below shows how it's supposed to fit... not my pic btw.....

This would be cheaper, and fit in the boot.

andman,

I bought the same seat a few months ago and had the same issue, the seatbelt will fit (just about) but it is only just!!!

I spoke to Dan at duckworth and LR don't do an extender. you can buy the aftermarket ones from ebay but I wouldn't trust them. I ended up swapping it for the seat in my wifes car as her seat belts are longer.

Hi vin.... I also wouldn't trust extenders.... It's just a shame I bought it for my new RRS and

I just wanted to let members know , so they don't waste their time...

I've got a cybex Cirona that i'll use for the next year and then look for something that fits.

Real shame as the bumper system is genius , and is my top choice for my precious cargo..... Laughing 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Agreed good bit of kit, I use the Sirona too from my wife's car in mine now, I do however think when the nipper gets a bit older and you can remove the base then the seat belt should be fine.

I agree, our baby seat is not isofix as a seatbelt is usually more than adequate in most cars. Trying to fit ours into the sport and no joy without a full on wrestling match which pulls the belt to the absolute limit. Friends look on with a little smile as if to say, haha how much does that car cost and the belts don't even fit. Very poor belts!

That is a fab description of the struggle with the belt....

I have side steps which help with the battle when I lean over... fortunately

Anyway I ended up buying CE certified seat belt extenders from amazon ... 20cm and 28cm

they feel super tough , work a dream and are very rigid so there is no flopping about when not in use...

I'll send you the link if you want.. 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's
