It should come on automatically when you start the car and the outside temprature is <= 5 deg C. Sometimes it needs a reset if it fails to fire up in a few attempts.

Where did you look? It is located close to the battery on the passenger side in engine bay. You can also see a small metal exhaust pipe close to the bumper pointing towards the front of the car if you look through the front passenger side wheel arch. Looks like this:

Is yours a diesel or petrol? They are standard on diesels but I read on the forum that some of the very early diesel ones didn't have the aux heater. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Mine fired up this morning for the first time in months. The smell gives it away. Often it'll smoke a bit too if it hasn't been run for a while. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Guarantee it will need resetting,I recall being told if your low fuel light comes on 3 times it locks the heater out.Seems madness to me,but hey it is a range rover Laughing

Yes, low fuel light 3 times when the temperature is also low enough to require the FBH and it locks up. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

You need a diagnostic tool to reset it. A dealer or independent can do it for a fee (no idea how much they will charge but shouldn't be a fortune). Or you can invest in a BAS product (search the forum for "BAS FBH Controller") that allows you to reset in addition to remote operation. Or spend even more to get the IIDTool which does this and a whole lot more. But first of all I'd wait to see if it really isn't working. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

take a look on the disco3 site, in their wiki there is a section on the fbh and shows a possible cheap reset
