Just be aware that removal of catalytic converters or diesel particulate filters will fail your car at next MOT! Shocked

an mot tester can not remove anything from the car to inspect it, if theres a piece of carpet screwed to the bottom of the car and he cant see if the cats are there or not then it can not fail

If there is a piece of carpet Shocked screwed to your floor, then i'd carry a fire extinguisher with you. Wouldn't they be able to tell from the emissions test that the cats have escaped Question

Pay them to remove your DPF, then pay much more to buy it back and re-fit it. Doesn't make sense does it.

They still don't do cat tests on diesels, just smoke test. As long as the oil burner is running sweet as a nut and they don't rev it to much it should be ok

Item 1 page 1....

On 16 February 2014 Section 7.1 of the inspection manual will be amended to include a check for the presence of catalysts and particulate filters on diesel powered vehicles. Any vehicle where a catalytic converter or particulate filter is missing where one was fitted as standard will fail the test

If DVSA pull you and inspect your vehicle, they will probably impound your vehicle. Laughing

Just get a permanent marker and stencil "DPF - Do Not Remove" somewhere along the exhaust, it's cheaper than fitting carpet and you won't have to vacuum it. Thumbs Up L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
