2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey
Hi New bee Important question before purchase!!

Hi guys i live in the uk so a question to all you uk based people, i am in the process of purchasing a RRS grey project kahn stage 1 the car has 400 miles but hasnt been registered yet it will be 56 plate says the trader. i also noticed that the HDC light was on. My first question

1.Is it possible for the HDC light to be on at 400 miles
2. If the car is an import (the trader says it isnt) do i still get 3 year warranty.
3. Is the warranty affected with bigger wheels i.e not std range rover!!!

Please respond i am stressing out as i have left a deposit with him.....

Thanks guys Azz

Welcome to the forum

1. HDC = Hill Decent Control ? If this is what your on about then just press the yellow button by the center arm rest and it should go off
2. I have a Import and have the full 3 year warranty!
3. I don't know about this one Anyone else know?

If the wheels are not Landrover approved I guess they could argue that they may affect the suspension.

Are you keeping your original wheels and tyres? If not not, did your dealer give you an 'allowance' for the old wheels and tyres??

Hi guys thanks for the replys,

What i meant with the hdc was that it is coming up as hdc system fault, you see the orange triangle and i think the abs together could that be possible at 400 miles.

Thanks azz

The kahn alloys are great but if anything should go wrong with the steering then blame could be put to the over-sized alloys. In which case unlikely you can get sorted under warranty. Crying or Very sad

So how much is he charging you for it? I'm sure you could get a better deal elsewhere unless of course you like the Khan bling.

Personnally I wouldn't touch it until the fault has been repaired by LR and he can prove that they have done the work Wink

Also as already mentioned if you get suspension probs you will be out on a limb with LR and those big wheels Exclamation

Good luck. TDV6 - gone

Don't mind him Evo... Wink

Are you saying there's a problem with the car before you've even committed to buying it? I know this might be blindingly obvious, but he will need to fix it before you pick it up surely? Either that or you don't buy the car.... what's the big issue here? Confused

The Kahn wheels will be the first thing they point to if there's any kind of chassis/suspension type problem. Basically, think very carefully before handing over your hard-earned. This sounds like it might be a bucketful of problems....

Thanks again guys keep the responses coming!!! Sorry im not excluding any1 out here your views will be welcome!!!

The rrs is in west Yorkshire it is costing me 50k with all the bits its not a original stage 1 Kahn its had the bits put on after wards. The issue I have is that I left a £500 deposit on it without starting it up or giving it a test drive due to it being late that day, I test drove it on Saturday everything was fine except it had the hdc system fault on it and I know the dealer has been driving it around because it has 400 miles and a tiny stone chip barely visible. My issues are will that affect the warranty him driving around without registering it. Has he been abusing the car I don’t know just abit worried!! If I walk away then I might lose my deposit!

thanks again guys azz Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Wink Wink

Evo, shmoogle and VA have said it.
Have you pointed this out to the dealer and told him to fix it?

Go back there, test drive the car and point out the faults. Ask him about the warranty also. If he is shifty and is trying to be funny, then post your problem here. I am sure you will get good advice.

The HDC warning should not be on at 400 or 40,000 miles. Its a fault - period. Malaysia Boleh!
