Land Rover Insurance

Had my FL2 and now my RRS insured with them for the last year. I won't be renewing with them as they want far too much in comparison to other reputable insurance companies but I just noticed something on the renewal notice from them I find a little concerning...

Current insurance expires 23:59 and they state the next policy would start at 10:30am the following day... So, without switching insurance companies they're suggesting my vehicle should be uninsured for over 10 hours...

While there's little chance of my RRS being stolen or damaged in this window there is some chance and so I find this yet another penny pinching underhand tactic by an insurance company - or am I being too cynical?

More likely just finger trouble with someone typing in the wrong info. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I did consider finger trouble, which is of course the more sympathetic explanation Smile However, with it being a renewal and therefore more than likely 100% computer generated and posted it's either a bug in the software that doesn't understand a renewal policy should start when the one it's renewing finishes, or....

Smile

I doubt they would think "oh, let's put a break of 10 hours between policies to save money". After all, as you say, with a renewal the expectation of the customer is that the cover is seamless. Should a claim occur for an accident then the insurance company could find they end up having to pay anyway (after a court case) plus being done over by the Insurance Ombudsman.

In these sort of situations I have no doubt that the courts would apply a "what would a reasonable man expect" test. A reasonable man would expect seamless cover. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
