How did you find the Terraclean, and how has the car been since?

Ive got mine booked in for a remap in the morning and im wondering whether to have the terraclean done at the same time as they also offer that service. 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

I think I read (poss on the Jag Forum) that Terraclean could cause Turbo problems, not sure how, and I am unable to find the original post, but the consenus was that partial softening / removal of carbon had caused a balance issue of the impellor.

I will keep looking for the original post In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

From what Ive been told, the carbon build up can "mask" issues that may be lurking in your engine. Once the carbon is removed, then things can arise. I think the main issues can be injectors. There are a few car brands that are more prone to this, but cant remember.

Dont "quote me" on this, but its just something that I have been told.

Just booked the car in for 2mora..... Feeling arse twitchy now! Lol 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

Darren
I hope (you should pray) that terraclean does not go any place near your HPFP. (High Press Fuel pump)

May be worth running some 2T for a while. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

Process:

•Car's own fuel supply is disconnected to the engine (most people pull out the fuse to the fuel pump)
•Terraclean System is powered by the cars battery (or a 12v battery)
•2x cans of Terraclean "Fuel"/Cleaning Agent is connected to the machine
•One is a red can, one is a black one, Red = Fuel Injectors/Valves, Black = Post combustion areas
•Terraclean System is connected directly to the car's fuel rail system or fuel line
•Engine is started with Terraclean's "Fuel"
•Engine is ran at approx 2000 RPM on Terraclean's "Fuel", this is run for approx 45 mins until the cans have run out, the process cleans out anything that is involved with the fuel/combustion process so from Fuel Injectors all the way down to the Catalytic Converter including cO2 sensors, the carbon is burned out through the exhaust system in the process.
•Disconnect Terraclean system from car
•Reconnect car's own fuel supply to the engine
•Engine is started to ensure it's all running good
•Quick Test Drive by mechanic (Where applicable)
•You pay your money and hopefully drive away with a much more responsive and cleaner burning car 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

Darren, that is the procedure for a petrol Terraclean. Although similar, the diesel machine that is attached to your fuel line has it's own fuel tank which is 50/50 diesel and the Terraclean fluid. The vehicle is then run for 15 mins at 1500-1800rpm, engine switched off and fluids left to dwell for 15 mins, then run again for 15 mins at 1500-1800rpm.

The procedure is well worth it in my opinion. It made my TDV8 run smoother and quieter, and was noticeably more responsive on the throttle pedal. MPG only improved by 0.8 though.

**Slight Disclaimer** I'm a Terraclean agent Rolling with laughter

Well done and dusted.... The car exploded into a ball of fire... Whistle

All went well, drive home was lovely. Not sure if thats the placebo effect, but I do think the driver was smoother. Had the turbo valve cleaned at the same time, absolutely FULL of crud!! Full process took an hour.

Car does feel like its more responsive and I found on the way home I was driving a little faster than normally, but I think thats because I was enjoying it.

For £330 Ive had a remap and Terraclean (I do like to negotiate!!), and they have transformed the car. When I bought it last week I was disappointed in the drive, as Id just come from a BMW 530d, but now I can safely say that its quite a nice drive.

Next job is having the EGR's blanked in the next couple of weeks, and Betsy is going into my local Specialist on Saturday morning for a full top to toe check-up. Fingers crossed the Terraclean wont bring to a head and underlying issues..

Thumbs Up 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

So I'm curious now. What is the turbo valve? I can understand that the turbo variable vanes might be full of crud but an hour to get access and clean them? Seems a bit quick for what would normally be a body off job? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

think I miss-heard him. Not sure what it was, and im not technical so couldnt even hazard a guess. It was a small plastic bleed type thing, sat on the top of the engine, but under some pipes??? As said, im not technical and probably got the wrong description! Whistle

Whatever it was, it was thick with black crud! 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)
