How easy is to steal my car?

There have been a spate of RRS's stolen recently from people I know.

One was from a petrol station when he went in to pay.

Apparently Land Rover recommend getting a steering wheel lock which is quite hilarious on a £50k-£60k piece of kit.

I understand the thieves are copying the coding on the key fob but as someone with a 2008 model, which doesn't have keyless entry or stop/start button, am I right in thinking I am less at risk?

cut, or take out your OBD2 connector under the dash.

Just check the car is actually locked when you plip the remote. Thumbs Up

I think it's the keyless models that are most at risk anyway. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Joche

Why cut the OB cable? What function does this have on the car? By cutting it how does it affect the car?

Many thanks

By disabling the OBD port, a new key cannot be coded to the car, and driven away Thumbs Up

It could potentially void any warranty you have. It will also make it more difficult for any garage you take it to trying to sort a problem. They would have to enable the port, do the work and then disable it again. Sounds like a recipe for disaster and excuses. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
