Australia 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Stornoway Grey
NEW PRICING & SPECS 2007 - Official Published Release

I am about to place an order for the RRS Supercharged, and I was going to include the Bluetooth option (and pay the upgrade obviously), but now I saw the following article, which has some inclusions:

http://media.ford.com/newsroom/release_display.cfm?release=24050

1. Personal Telephone Integration System with Bluetooth ® capability (as standard)

2. One-touch operation for the front passenger’s power window

3. Clock function added to the driver’s message center

4. SIRIUS satellite radio (as standard)

5. Light cherry or dark oak wood accents

6. LUX or sporty Supercharged-unique leather upholstery

7. Stormer 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels

If I understand this correctly, all these come as standard now in the 2007MY, so unless I am stupid I should probably let my order go through without choosing these options, because the car will include them as standard, am I right??

Whoever wants to offer advice, feel free.. Confused Confused Confused

Ah yes! Your dealer might have a 06 build he wants to get rid of and so hasn't mentioned the 07 build. When you've ordered he'll turn around and say 'LR messed up your order - they forgot the ........' 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks for the quick reply!

It's very interesting because I have actually agreed on a price, he has agreed on $136,250 AUD without the bluetooth upgrade, then I added it on and it's about 138,000 something...

So should I just tell him to place the order without the Bluetooth upgrade, then wait for the official price increase to kick in, then expect a RRSS to arrive with the bluetooth upgrade installed??

What do you think? Very Happy Very Happy

Just say you want a 07 build. Will take a while to get it though. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If you order now (and it's a car that has to get built and shipped, not something lying around in stock) then you'll get a MY07 car anyway which will have all the relevant changes included. OK, so there is a slight price hike with the 07 model but you may end up with a better car for the price you were planning to pay for your 06 model car with upgrades.

Yeah, I know, the timeframe is early FEB 07 delivery to Australia..

I had already agreed with him that he was ordering an 07 build, but am I right in telling him to drop the bluetooth upgrade of our agreed price, so that the car comes with the upgrade as standard (with my lower price)??

I'm just sort of jumping out of my skin because I found the link by accident you see, and the order is happening tomorrow morning..! Smile

Thanks again for being so quick..!

Well, yes... Very Happy

Why pay extra for something you'll get as standard? As VA said, be careful he doesn't take you down the "oh, look - we can get you into your RRS next week instead of Feb 07" route. Make him work for his money for once.

shmoogle, thanks for that... That confirms what I'm thinking..

It was always going to be an 07 build, but he was ust charging me for the bluetooth upgrade in addition to the price of the car...

I will tell him to drop the Bluetooth upgrade, which will being the price back to 136,250 AUD, suck on the price increase for the 07 build, and I should get the car I want huh??

Cheers,

Andrew.

shmoogle, yeah I know, most dealers would do that.

But I've been through this here in my city, nobody could get a Bonnatti grey for me when I wanted it, so he did the right thing and came clean with me & told me I would just have to wait till Feb 07 and get an ordered one to exactly my specs...

I won't change it even if he drops the price more, which is very unlikely because that's absolute rock bottom...

Thanks for confirming what I thought..!! Smile

The info's been public for a while now... but unless you spend ages scouring the motoring press or have industry connections, these things normally take a while to become common knowledge Wink

Oh ok.. So I'm a semi sherlock holmes.. Smile

Do you think that all of the items mentioned in my original post are standard now? Or just some (and the others just available options)...

I'm a pedantic lawyer you see, so I'm noticing that the words "as standard" only appears after items 1 & 4 (as per my original post)

I suppose it makes sense for them to be as standard because all of those items (i.e. 1 - 7) were optional extras in the 06 spec already, and they would only be mentioning them if they were coming as standard in the 07 build...

(I will stop answering my own questions publicly now...!!)

Ok, that's all from me, I will keep the thread posted..

Cheers,

Andrew.

The only other thing to consider is if any of the additions to the 07model year RRS are region specific? As far as I am aware they should be fitted to all cars of 07 build.

The only one I know of being region specific is that Sirius Radio business - we don't have that in the UK. They def have it in the US, but not sure about other markets... Confused
