Maintenance Air Suspension Compressor

There's a company in Warrington near where I live that can overhaul the compressor but as my RRS is my daily drive for business use will I still be able to drive it with the compressor off for a few days? Ive just acquired a Bearmach Hawkeye so not sure if that will help?

Thanks, Sean Thumbs Up

I could be wrong but I would have thought if the compressor is missing all sorts of errors will appear. I would assume that the compressor isn't just there for change of heights but also to top up the air in the system as you are driving around.

I would think it'll just end up sat on its belly because over time the vehicle levels downwards when its parked. You might also find that it throws up a red error light and messages because any time it needed to move air around the system it would find the compressor was missing - the RRS throws a wobbly if a brake light is broken. I hate to think whet it would do with a missing compressor! Big Cry 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Right, well I managed to source a used spare compressor off ebay (off a Discovery 3), emailed / rang Andrew @ LandyAir based in Golborne who offered to service the faulty compressor I had bought, dropped it off at midday and collected it at 5pm, great guy and great service and a reasonable price too, swapped out the old unit pretty easily and quickly and the "new" unit has been working perfectly, web link below:

I recommend purchasing the captive spring nuts that clip to the chassis which allows the compressor mounting bracket to bolt everything back up, as they do fall to pieces when you first remove the unit, about £4 also off ebay

Fault code alarm no longer warning so job done Thumbs Up

Hope this helps others faced with the same problems
