2014 Motor Trend Sport Utility of the Year (not the RRS)

Ride not good? I thought RRS was the pinnacle of good ride comfort/handling?
The V6 is so bad? Crying or Very sad

Picking the 2014 Motor Trend Sport Utility of the Year! - Wide Open Throttle Ep 85

Disappointed that it got discarded so early and beat by a number of lame/quirky SUVs....
Also not fair about having three versions of the Jeep Grand Cherokee with different engines and options and only test RRS SC V6.. They could have not be so disappointed by the SC V8 and the dynamic package it has.

They don't even mention off-road ability properly....

But again disappointed about how much they did not like he ride. Strange....

If I wanted to buy the junk they recommend, I would, but I don't.

I do agree about the infotainment system being dated and if LR or their contractors are not working around the clock on its replacement, they should be. This is nothing new though. Mark

Yeah shame about the infotainment system nt being updated significantly.

Just curious and surprised why they ditched the RRS from the4 competition so early...

They did not even bother to comment it much...

Not that they have something against non-american cars or Land Rover in particular since they have chosen the Evoque as the SUV of the year for 2012.

I wonder if they will change the infotainment seeing as InControl duplicates most of the functionality - music (with album artwork), navigation, streaming radio, ...

Well, let's face it, people aren't buying the RRS to take it off road. If they'd put those vehicles on a proper off road course the RRS might have been the only one to finish! As one of the stated criteria was about fulfilling its design function, the fact that the RRS wasn't properly tested off road - that dirt track doesn't count! - then one can say that they didn't actually test it fully.

As for the ride, well, it's a personal thing but considering they hated the ride on a number of others that got through the cut, it presumably wasn't a big factor in their choice.

Having said all of that - who are "Motor Trend"? Most of the articles I've seen, both in the UK and on US websites, have rated the RRS2 very highly. Maybe "Motor Trend" (who are they again?) are just an outlier. A blip. Something to which little concern should paid. Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
