United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Orkney Grey
Valuation advice please

Hi everyone, I do not really talk on the forum much but i can assure you i am always reading. I was hoping if someone could help me in regards to what sort of money i should be looking for my car. Its a 2012 3.0 SDV6 '61' Autobiography in Orkney Grey, with the black and red leather interior. Its got front and rear tinted windows, side steps, mudflaps, dual view and everything else comes as standard. The only thing it has not got as far as i am aware is the rear entertainment system and sunroof. It has full service history, and currently on 29k miles.

I called a Land Rover dealer and they have offered me 36k? with px against a new sport AB or Vogue SE I was looking for around 42/43k, but i have no idea if that is too much to be looking for.

Any sort of help would very much appreciated. Thanks in advance 2021 LR Defender X-Dyn HSE (Present)

Just purchased - almost the same age & spec car - except the interior is ivory & black with 18k mileage for £43.5 from a dealer. I don't think your far off the mark with what your asking. Trouble is selling private at that price there is a very limited market - most buyers will need finance - also approved used Landrovers come with 12 months warranty - road side assistance even if the original warranty is due to expire. Good luck with the sale - definitely a sought after colour & spec in my opinion Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

I agree with Peachy but would say 40 k for a private sale maybe closer to the mark .

Thank you Peachy and 362BKR for the responses !

Peachy, our cars are very much alike and you know what they say, great minds think alike Thumbs Up

The dealer called me around half an hour later raising value to around 38k but I am still not satisfied, is there any way in which I can persuade them to raising the price which they are giving me ?

Thanks again guys Very Happy 2021 LR Defender X-Dyn HSE (Present)

Hi
http://www.cap.co.uk/consumer/free-used-car-valuations/results
is the place where usually dealers derive the trade in value from. They usually offer lower end of the price. Your spec and model comes in at 35,000-37,400 and they have offerred bang in the middle.
Average dealer retail price is 41500 according to CAP. Usually they are sold 1,000 below that price. It will be very difficult to sell it privately as most would need finance. But you could give it a go on autotrader. I would market it at 39,900 and if you are lucky you may get a buyer for 39000. You will probably get atleast 20-30 phone calls from various specialist dealers with whom you can negotiate a better price. Best you can expect is 37,000.
However, you being a person who bought for 65000 in first place, I am not sure whether you would all that hassle for about a grand more.
I have been researching the market for long time now for a RRS under 30,000 and my quest will continue.
Kind Regards
