Changes of wheels for my tdv8

Hi, I have a tdv8 with brembo brakes, we have a lot of pot holes where we are and I have damaged 3 tyres on the side walls, does anyone know, can I change the tyres to size to 50 or 55 or can I change all the wheels and tyres for disco 4 255 55 19 and will they fit with my brakes
Thanks

I would stick to recommended size of 255 50 19 for insurance and warranty peace of mind. This will also keep speedo and mechanical components happy Thumbs Up

Disco alloys have a narrower width too - you want 9J for RRS but Disco are 8J Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Now that's weird.

I've just got a 2009 TDV8, and it has 275/40/20 tyres.............. Are these aftermarket items then ?

275 40 20 are an approved size so don't worry - Marky was asking what he can fit due to pot hole damage - 255 50 19 is approved size too Thumbs Up

I run 20" all season normally then 19" winter during colder months to protect my alloys and better suited to snow and ice Very Happy

Approved sizes

South Africa 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

I had the same issue with my 20 inch and it turned out to be the tyres.
I got Michelin Latitudes and went through 6 of them in 7 months so I changed to Pirelli P-Zero. Been on 7000km across southern Africa trip and not a mark on them.
I did some investigation on what after market wheel and tyre combo work and the best I could find was Compomotive wheels they even have an 18inch with +44mm offset that fit over the Brembo brakes.

ISTR that the RRS G4 had 255 55 19 tyres fitted? If so then L/R fitment

It will alter the speedo, but you may find it accurate Rolling Eyes

Insurance wise ask them first and see what they say Question you should tell them about any mod or extra

My next set of tyres may well be 55 aspect ratio General AT's or Duratec's ?

Thumbs Up
