(FIXED) The dreaded amber Light Thought to be suspension

Hi new on here , just picked myself a 2006 supercharged 4.2 rrs only 29,000 miles so seemed a great deal , bought from London area drove back up north after a day it started to throw suspension fault when cornering lean light on amber with arrows left / right which would reset after key off, I live in Spain so set back off to Spain fault started to show more often now after 3 weeks the fault is showing permanent and doesn't reset , got a mobile mechanic to pop his diagnostic on and he said its showing communication error with the control unit for this , when I manual select to change ride height seems to respond ok no other faults showing on dash only this one, any advise as the nearest RR dealer is 60 miles away and if there service is anything like everything else in Spain it will a waste of petrol taking it there , I have taken module out as I was told the suffer with water leakage in this area but all contacts seem fine, can I just buy a new module (located right hand side under dash) or will this need reprogramming to suit my rrs, any help would really be appreciated Dave Confused

I would look at suspension sensors. If you have centre screen look at the 4x4 monitor, it will flag up a faulty one 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

If you were able read the code, could it be cleared? 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

He tried reset everything just shows backup the dash light takes about 2 secs so it doesn't look like it clears, as I said at first it would clear by restarting now its there constantly , he said fault is permanent
unlikely to be a sensor as they would show its showing communication with the module errors but must be part working as I can manually change the ride height im sure this module controls that as well

Sounds like command module as you feared if all four sensors are showing clear. Would still try and get an Indi to clear the fault rather than using a general fault reader. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

For £100 ish can get a module but not sure if it needs programming to work in my RRS ?

I don't think they are vehicle specific but I'm sure a grown up will correct me. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

The only thing that I can think of is the individual height for the calibration of each wheel as that would worry me if it the stability was effected , must be someone on her he can confirm if its just a swop over ?

Thinking logically it will be the sensors that supply the height not the module, as the arms are a fixed length. Once the system has been placed in low ride and high positions the module then keeps those dimensions. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Anybody else have any views on me just being able to swop the control unit over without having to get it programmed by the stealers ? 2006 Hst 4.2 Supercharged , Angel eyes , 2010 rear led lights , indicator / courtesy wing mirror leds, Khan 21" Diamond edition split rims, full spec (running LPG £0.60 per ltr)

Did the chap use a Land Rover specific diagnostic computer? A lot of the generic code readers will not read the codes from D3/D4/FFRR/RRS properly.

No it wasn't a RR dealer diag but he did say it cost him about £3500 and he pays extra £500 a year for updates also called there tech and they agreed that it was module , but no further help from that just the code and returning communication error from the module .. 2006 Hst 4.2 Supercharged , Angel eyes , 2010 rear led lights , indicator / courtesy wing mirror leds, Khan 21" Diamond edition split rims, full spec (running LPG £0.60 per ltr)

If the air suspension control module is replaced then the system will need to be calibrated (just as it does if you replace a ride height sensor).

You can do this yourself using IIDTool (and others) if you have a smooth, level area to do it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
