Unknown purple wire in OBD cavity 12

While hunting for the FBH W-Bus wire that I mistakenly thought was already connected to the OBD, I took a good look at the back of the OBD connector.

I noticed that cavity 12 is populated with a purple wire so I checked over at TOPIx to see what this was for.

The wiring diagram for my VIN doesn't show this connected at all for the diagnostics socket.

So I used a little bit of detective work (without actually crawling into the passenger footwell of the car, so please shout if I've made any bad assumptions)

Looking at the connector information for C0040 shows cavity 12 connected by a purple wire connected to C0223 cavity 11.

The connector information for C0223 shows the same connection back the other way.

The picture for C0223 indicates that it connects to C0047R on the main harness.

But, and here's where things get murky, the information for both C0047R and C0047L doesn't have any entry for cavity 11 on either.

In fact, according to the documentation for both, the colours for each wire completely change - this must be an error?

Just as confusing, looking for C0047-11 on the main wiring diagrams shows it is "supposed" to be the shield ground cable for part of the audio circuits with the cavities either side for the left and right channels.

Just very confused! Does anyone have any other information?
