Time for goodbye

So, 7,750 miles and 5 months later it's time for the HSE to go back.

Overall I've loved the car, it's been great.

Positives :
- puts a smile on my face every time I get in it
- pretty much every passenger has commented on the comfort, space and style
- no problems with it at all (apart from the TFT screen 'resetting' very occasionally for a couple of seconds)
- 37mpg on a mix of motorway and round town driving
- enough acceleration for me and responds really well if you drop down a gear and kick it to overtake, but cruises beautifully on the motorway for long distances
- most of the design is really well thought out and the toys are good
- colour combination worked better than I thought and got lots of positive comments
- ebony/ivory interior shows no signs of wear, even the ivory is unmarked

Could be better :
- Satnav isn't great and the infotainment system touch screen is a bit slow
- one or two of the interfaces are over designed in my view (a button for heated seats would be fine, did they really also need to involve the slow touch screen as well?)
- it is a big truck at times (width really) so in narrow streets you notice. For parking I just pick the bigger spaces...
- 5+2 seats are a bit pointless unless you have very young kids as pretty small in the last row

So been very happy with it and sad to see it go. On the other hand, I'm collecting a Firenze Red ABG to replace it, so life isn't that bad Very Happy

Good review. Enjoyed reading your comments as i'am thinking about getting a HSE Dynamic. Seems sudden to change after five months - hope it wasn't that bad Smile I must admit I do think the sat nav/infotainment seems a bit old skool compared to the X5 & steering wheel seems just a tiny touch too big to be a 'sport' - both these are much better in the X5 IMO. But overall the new RRS does seem to win over the competition. 2001 Black Porsche 911 turbo

Nothing wrong with the HSE at all. Just was always a stop gap (someone else's cancelled order) until the AGB that was on order arrived - which it now has.

changing while numbers are good during initial car launc years is not a bad way to go , if prices hold cost per mile can work out damn good.

looking at numbers at the moment it appears now that prices are dropping which is quite early in its model life , but not by massive numbers looks like about £800 a month on 3.0 SDV6, £500 on SDv8 and £1000 ish on 5.0SC 2014 5.0SC AB

Gone 5.0 SC
