United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Firenze Red
How To Save A Few £

Just collected my Sport - Having taken an 11 year old boy with me when I ordered it I ended up with several things I hadn't planned for.

1. Its red - His choice not mine but it does look pretty good !
2. Ipad holder - £165 but available on ebay for as little as £5.95 !!
3. Mood lighting - £235 for 4 LED's that have virtually no effect whatsoever - Land Rover should refund anyone that paid this expecting decent ambient lighting - I have more in my wife's old Astra.
4. Red Brakes - £330 - Expensive for red paint but do look nice !
5. Cooler - Great if being able to cool a can of coke is worth £165

Putting those aside first impressions are excellent - unbelievably quiet, powerful and smooth.

HSE. Dynamics have a black grille.

Agree about the ambient lighting, waste of money. Mark

Why did you not just get an ab? I cant see the point of making it look like something its not.

I had a budget of £75K and I wanted to get as much of the extras that I find useful. In the end I have a car that looks like an Autobiography ( not that it is particularly important) my dealer offered the black AB bits as goodwill gesture because of an earlier problem with my order. - has the same spec as an AB plus additions such as massage seats, tow bar, park heating, 22's and comes in £10K cheaper. What I don't have is a low range gear box which I would never use and the dynamics package that would be really useful about 1% of the time. It is very easy to get carried away with the extras and they rarely have any future value so I built a car that I wanted ( apart from the Ipad and Mood lighting - see above !)
£10K will buy me a nice Ducati / Jet Ski or Cruise and I'll just have to live without having Autobiography on the back - how will I cope ! Very Happy Current - Red Range Rover Sport

I'm happy with the HSE, I just added a few options like Panoramic Roof etc to suit my needs. I didn't bother with the dynamic package or off road package, as I doubt I will ever use them.

One thing I like about the HSE is the silver grills, it stands out against the darker colours, I like the contrast. Thumbs Up Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Gone but not forgotten:

That's what I'm saying. Leave the silver grill and leave the sills and corners satin black. Its not an ab its an HSE.
There are so many cars ( not just RR's ) masquerading as superior models.
There is nothing wrong in having a ' standard ' HSE so why try and disguise it?

I fail to see what is so special about an AB that lesser models are not allowed to imitate. Its a label attached to a car that a manufacturer designed to extract more money from people who are bothered about labels. Its a red range rover sport, is that not enough to describe it or does extra labelling mean something significant that I am missing. If people want to modify the aesthetics to suit their taste then good on them, I'm sure the only people who are bothered are those that paid too much money for their top of the range cars in the hope that it would give them a sense of superiority over us lesser mortals. Rob, I haven't got an AB and I don't feel a 'lesser mortal' for not having one.
