Suspension woes

Had the HST for 5 days or so, done 300 miles.

DSC orange warning light came on once, went off after 30 seconds.
Red DSC 'stop driving' light came on once doing 70, and then "suspension inactive' or something displayed on the message centre.
"Suspension failure" came on the message centre on start-up today. Restarted, same message. Restarted for a second time, and all seemed well.
Parked the car and the N/S/R suspension dropped after a minute. Regained its stance on starting.

I know the Top Gear mag long term RRS has had rear suspension troubles which couldn't be fixed - same issue of the N/S/R dropped to the floor.

Are these flashes of warning lights, messages and the playing-up of the suspension common, or does my car have a problem?

EDIT: Just measured the wheel to arch gaps, and the N/S/R is 4 cm smaller than the O/S/R. I'm sure my drivway is not that uneven.

Teething troubles have been known with the suspension and or rogue error messages. Maybe give it one more day and if it is still playing up it is a trip to the dealers Crying or Very sad

There are a couple of service bulletins covering suspension doing the rounds at the moment. Given yours is an HST (and so very recently off the production line) I'm not sure if these have since been rolled into the production process - but speak to your dealer about bulletins A034 and A036. These are both software upgrades and physical component replacements.

One other quick thought, you haven't run the battery a bit low by any chance? the D3 and RRs are very sensitive over the amount of charge in the battery and give all sorts of messages if it is a bit low.

True. Just look at the plethora of MDP's problems - a large amount of which got sorted by having a new battery.

Thanks - I'll have a word with the dealer. Noticed the other day that "Low voltage mode" flashed across the audio display when I turned the engine off but still had a DVD playing for the kids in the back. Maybe a faulty battery.

Not necessarily, I will have had mine for a year soon and not had any problems (nothing worth complaining about anyway)... as with most discussions, you tend to only hear about the bad stuff! Very Happy

I have the same problem.. (posted elsewhere on this forum), my RRS sits wonky- one side is 1/2 inch higher than the other ..... rubbish!

I am still in discussion with dealer ("all range rovers sit wonky"....eeerr deerh!) and landrover ("mmm should be within spec, let me get back to you")

... let me know if you make any progress.

Daniel.

Rolling Eyes

Interesting that as well as the TG Mag's RRS having suspension woes (dropping of the N/S/R) I read Car yesterday, and their RRS has had a parking brake failure, suspension failure, and squatting of the suspension of its own accord.

Booked the car in for today. Sat playing with the suspension last night and noticed that if I raised the car to off-road height, then lowered it back to normal, the N/S/F wheel height reading fluctuated and bounced from full-up to full-down, and kept wandering around for a couple of minutes - suggesting the N/S/F sensor is faulty too.

Tried it again at a traffic lights on the way to the garage, and same thing happened.

Mentioned it to the garage, and left the car with them.

Was phoned at 3:30, to say they've traced the problem to a faulty N/S/F sensor. Rolling Eyes Haven't got one, but can fit a new one tomorrow if it arrives in time.

"Will this cure the other issues?"
"No idea Sir. Let's see what happens"

Replaced the sensor last Thursday.

All better.

Until last night, when the orange DSC light came on again.
