Sat Nav Question

I was under the impression that the SatNav would alert you when you were low on fuel and show the nearest or next fuel station?

Mine has never done it. Does anyone know why? L319 D4 HSE

Mine's never done that. I forget the exact command, but there's a voice command for "I need fuel" and that displays the nearest petrol station.

Talking of fuel (sorry to digress slightly from your thread, Adam) - has anyone else noticed a big drop in diesel prices over the past 48 hrs? The cheapest I have locally now is 94.9p!!! Very Happy Thumbs Up

Yes it should do but mine (on both the RRS or D3) have never done this either.

Blimey that diesel is cheap Shmoogle. Prices haven't dropped much around here yet.
You can use http://www.petrolprices.com to keep an eye on prices. If you register (free), they send you a weekely email detailing the prices of fuel at your local stations, so you can use the cheapest. Matt

That's right - this is how I know. In fact, I have it sent to me daily as prices have been fluctuating quite a lot recently.

I drove past a petrol station on the way to work yesterday morning and it was 97.9p and when I came past it again on the way back home it had dropped to 95.9p. Something's going on... Confused

Just by luck I had to fill up last night - something I don't have to do very often Wink WOW what's going on ....... 94.7p .... that'll do nicely Very Happy

I do get the Petrol symbols on my sat nav - they come on when the amber light comes on the instrument binnacle simultaneously.

Mine does the same.
As soon as the low fuel warning light comes on, normally with a range of around 50 miles, the fuel station icons appear on the sat-nav.

Sainsbury's have the "5p off a litre" offer on again when you spend over a certain level in the store. That could, in theory, bring it below 90p/litre again Very Happy

Yeah - £50 gives you the 5p vouchers... that would take it down to 89.9p at my local Sainsburys. They were the days! Rolling Eyes

RRUK, you need to enable the "Low Fuel Warning" option in the Navigation Setup / User Settings submenu of the satnav to populate your front monitor with pump station icons whenever your fuel level gets low (meaning the amber light next to the fuel gauge lights up), which must happen every 5 minutes in your SC, no? Maybe the feature is factory disabled on all Supercharged Sports. Those fuel icons popping up every few miles may a) be very depressing for the owner, and b) cause phosphor burn-in on the monitor. Then you'd see BP and Shell logos even with the car parked in the garage! Very Happy Come to think of it, you should probably leave the option off. Wink

Seriously, I have also found that, if I am already low on fuel and attempt to enter a destination that's too far to reach without refueling according to the trip computer calculations, the satnav warns me and displays a list of fuel stations on the way there. That's a neat trick.
