Dropped off to Lee looking rather sad for itself after a 20 mile trip over to the workshop in the pouring rain.




I then went off in Lee's vacuum cleaner (sorry, Smart Car) and left them too it.

The car sat in my dealers compound for quite a few days in this nasty weather. After a thorough wash, the decontamination process started including clay bar so the bodywork ended up nice and smooth.

Then came the marking out process to show scuffs, paint imperfections etc so Lee and Rob would pay particular attention to these areas.




JLR don't charge for the scuffs and paint imperfections by the way. These come free of charge





This was followed by a total of 4 hours machine polishing (2 guys x 2 hours).

Gteq was then applied, panel by panel. The current stuff comes in two parts (with hardener for curing). This takes the best part of a day or two to properly cure. That's an espresso cup by the way so the bottles are tiny.

This 2 part Gteq has been around for a while and over the last few months Lee has been using a new product from Gteq that cures in under an hour. In fact it starts hardening so fast application and buffing is literally a 2 man process even when doing a body panel at a time. I believe this new product has just launched this week.



Moving the focus back to the car, I have to say I'm totally in love with this colour. I went out last night with some friends into the West End, had dinner in the Strand and was the designated chauffeur for the evening. Whoever set eyes on it was blown away by the effect of black one minute and blue hints the other. The colour literally changes as you walk around the car. Absolutely love it. If you're sitting on the fence as to which dark colour to have, this is it guys!!!
