SAXTONS 4X4 COMPLAINT

ok long story but am so Censored off will have to tell you guys
test drove a rrs 07 hse stunning it was put a £1000 deposit on the 08/12/13 they said it would take a few wks to change number plates over. thought ok fair enough, xmas came n gone they said xmas working hrs at dvla was to blame so again fair enough. 1st feb came so i rang them up , the sales man pitch a load of crap because it was on southern irish plates will take longer.in the mean time i have rang them up wkly. got a phone from them today and said if i want the car i will have to put another £2000 on top of the agreed price of which we signed contracts.
because they advertise on the aa sales site i contacted them and they put me through to their legal team .in short they said they (saxtons) should honour the contract because t&cs dont mention any incurred costs. however rang saxtons back and said i dont have a leg to stand on the solicitor is wrong. pay £2000 or get deposit back because we are not gonna sell you that car for the contract price.
please dont not use this firm they are crap

sorry for the lengh and rant and apologies if this is in the wrong section
tj

Only spoke with them on the phone and got wary. "Do you want to put down a holding deposit". "This car will be sold if you don't put a deposit down now"
Salesman told me the car had just come in and was awaiting valet etc, yet the pictures online showed an immaculate car which had tyre dressing. Read reviews that the pictures online are not always the actual car, which explains why you never see the actual number plate.
Didn't go to showroom, following the poor reviews, I never will.

I paid them a visit, website makes them look very presentable.
Parked, walked in, then straight back out again.
Am sure that many have had a good experience with them but not somewhere I could look to buy a car.

In parting with hard earned cash I have to enjoy spending it and just didn't get that want to "spend it here feeling" with these guys.

A quick look on the forum here and I was convinced to stay clear.

Well my guess is they look at the forum, as in the past someone posted a apology too them, stating what they had posted was untrue, very much like what I would assume was requirement after a legal battle

So with that, make sure what is posted is based on facts not opinion Wink

I must admit I take everything I read with a pinch of salt. I've had bad experiences with companies that others have raves about and vice versa. So I now simply do a bit of homework then go judge for myself and best of all I make sure that anything agreed is put in writing rather than verbal so there is no arguing if they try to change the story half way. A good email trail with everything detailed of what is and isn't included and the total deposit and total final price before any money is paid for me is now a must.

Always stick by the rule "buyer beware" and hopefully you won't get caught out.
