Fitting xenon headlights?

Just received my new RRS. Being the impatient type, rang around Australia till i found one with the options i wanted (and a few others i might add) but missed out on the xenon headlights. Anyone out there know if it's possible to fit the xenon headlights, not the adaptive, after delivery? I can't imagine it would be too much of a problem, just curious if they required heavier duty wiring or something?

You may be able to do it, but the wiring harness will doubtless need to change. Xenons require a higher voltage to work.... you might alternatively consider higher rated halogens. I went through that circus with Mrs Shmoogle's FL a while ago...

I have changed to xenons on my D3, it is a straight swap , no wiring mods required. Wink

I don't think they work on a higher voltage it is just the initial start up which is handled by the starter box on the bottom of the lamp.

Hmm... I'm sure when I was looking into it for the FL it wasn't as simple as just swapping the bulbs. I suppose it may well be different for different cars. Let us know how it pans out for the RRS, driller... looks like a useful bit of info will come to the surface Very Happy

Still best to check that the same principle applies to the RRS Wink

Yes indeed, was looking at changing out the whole assembly. Not really keen on aftermarket rubbish and bolt ons. Cliff, how nuch did you pay for your D3 units. Just got a quote here in oz for an absolutely ridiculous amount of money, $5000.00 each!

You are correct - it is a legal requirement in Europe to have both headlight washers and dynamic height adjustments...
