So the noun would be a minger?

So we could say that someone who didn't wash was a minger or was minging?

Talk about going off-topic!

I certainly accept if you're not mechanically minded that it's better to get the dealer to install them but I have this distrust they will do it properly. Mark

Looking at the instructions for front and back, it seems the wheels do need to come off and the fronts are easier than the rears. Both need holes drilling into, for example, the plastic sill covers and I would certainly want to be certain that there was someone in the dealership who specialised in the fitting of the accessories. I'd much rather LR fitted this stuff at the factory though and I will do a better job than someone on work experience in the dealership.

I also looked at the stainless under trays which are quite expensive and basically glued on top of the existing plastic ones. I had hoped they would be a screw-in replacement so mainly cosmetic, I can't see they offer much in the way of protection. Mark

I looked at this as well and concur.
Personally I don't think they even look good. Makes the RRS look even more like an Evoque.

Not that there's much wrong with the looks of the Evoque you understand.

I fitted my front mud flaps today. Not at all hard but be warned, the instructions are (I guess?) for FFRR and there is a small difference with the RRS.

Basically, the 'lump' underneath the front plastic trim covers the screw that you need to remove in order to pull the trim off. I guess if you have a ratchet angled screwdriver, you can get to it. But I don't so scratched my head as to how to get it off.

In the end, I drilled a hole under the screw through the plastic. The lumps are replaced by the mudflaps anyway, So I thought, why not?

Rob, are they a good fit, the Evoque ones are shocking. What about the rears, the fitting - and drilling seems more involved. Mark

In January I went to the French Alps and came back covered in small, but huge amounts of tar. I went again in February just before I went again the mud flaps were fitted. When I came back, I cleaned the car with AutoGlym tar remover. I have just come back for a third time and the tar damage is so much less than before.
So, I say to you all that mud flaps are a necessity no matter how they are fitted or by whom. The other option: a friend on the second trip had no such issues with his ML and the tar. He has side steps. So, mud flaps help with road debris, but I wonder if side steps are even better? Does anyone have any experience?

Last thing to say is that the mud flaps look quite good, I was worried that the car might look like a grandad Rover, but no, it is all good.

If they do reduce the amount of Censored that covers the back of these cars just in general use then I think I'll option them.

My only concern now is whether to risk asking my local (Stratstone) stealership to fit them - or just supply....mmmmm.. Rolling Eyes MY14 RRS2, Corris, Pano, 50/50 Cirrus/Black leather, Meridien sound, 22" Style 6's, Bespoke Gap around tailgate.

I have a fair amount of small paint blemishes behind the rear wheels so thought about mud flaps. After watching the Powerful UK videos I was a little worried about fitting the rear ones, I thought it meant cutting into the wheel arch liner, however it’s part of the backing of the bumper and not structurally required or visible once the liner is back in place. I have bought other bits from them and always been happy with quality and service.

I ended up at duckworths with genuine flaps, great price and service and fit nice and snuggly

I think it looks a whole lot better with mud flaps and hopefully will reduce the muck up the back.
