Upper Tailgate Switch.

Greeted by a totally flat battery - yesterday morning. I hadn't used the Sport for a week but I had noticed when the weather was cold I was greeted by a defrosted patch around the tailgate switch TBH I should have sorted then Embarassed .I have searched the forum & it seems to be a common fault but any ideas why it would be continually live ? Big Cry

As always thanks in advance. Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Perhaps - since the RRS electronic are supposed to shut down completely about 15 or 20mins after the ignition is switched off the partial circuit of the tailgate switch is continuously detected and the various ECUs don't then turn off and the car stay 'live' eventually flattening the battery.

You have to remove the cover. Open the upper tailgate to get at the screws from the inside. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

I recently changed out my tailagte switch on a 2006, just removed the rubber cover from switch and prized it out with a screwdriver. HALLY
