Time to commit to build

So, just got an email from our dealer. Apparently the delivery date for the AB I have on order (to replace the HSE I've had since November) may come forward a few weeks. So I need to commit to the build on Monday.

Current spec is :

VEHICLE
Land Rover All New Range Rover Sport 2014.5MY 3.0

OPTIONS
Firenze Red
21" Style 16 Split Spoke Alloy Wheels
Auto Dimming Powerfold Mirrors
60:40 Folding Rear Seats With Load Through
Privacy Glass
Adaptive Xenon Headlamps
Surround Camera System
Blind Spot Monitor & Reverse Traffic Detection
Dark Engine Turned Aluminium Trim
TNL Lunar/Ebony/Cirrus Tri/Ebony/Lunar/Cirrus

I think this will be a bit of a step up from the HSE as some of the kit on the AB looks neat and I want the pano roof for the summer. Colour and interior is obviously a personal choice (the person being my 11 year old daughter Smile ) but any thoughts on the rest of the build?

I've been toying with adding the park heat and the new 20 way seats, but both are £1,000 options that I've never seen for real so not yet made up my mind. Any views on those? Anything obvious anyone else has gone for? I don't need the 5 + 2 seats (used them once on the HSE) or side steps and nothing else catches my eye!

The RRS is a big car and those aids to help you park it and thread it through width restrictions are a good choice IMHO. After all, a replacement scuffed rim will pretty much pay for the surround camera system.

The new fancy seats are supposedly only available with the high-end RSE which makes them an expensive option. I would always add a full size spare wheel; the repair aerosols often don't work and are guaranteed to render your tyre irreparable. Mark

Yes, sorry, my post looked as if I was suggesting Surround Cameras where actually I was endorsing them. The PITA on the Evoque is that you get only the reversing camera when you select reverse even if you have previously selected the surround cameras so you cannot get a birds eye view of those preciously front alloys when parking. I would hope otherwise but I expect the same software development has been carried across to the RRS, likely the same brainless software development team out of touch with reality. Anyone here have them yet?

The Loadspace rails are rather unloved - I have used them for social seating on my Evoque though that's an unloved option as well and whether LR will ever introduce it for the RRS, I do not know. One other reason is that you can fit the security box which will help guard your stuff while parked though not of course if the car is stolen...

Those Style 16 wheels have got me thinking... Mark

Would recommend the park heat as very handy for car to be defrosted and warm before you hop in

2010 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I was in two minds with park heat as I already piled on what I think is probably too many options.
I decided to go with adaptive cruise control instead which although it costs more I know I would use quite a lot. Current...

What are thoughts on roof bars? Would I need these to fix a roof rack or a bike rack or are there other systems around?

I would go for park heat such joy getting into an already warmed car and engine on a freezing cold morning or when you are leaving a dinner party, click to heat when your are about to leave remembering it will take the other half 30 mins to say goodbye. I am also sure it must help engine wear.

+1 on Park Heat. The best option you can get IMO. Regards

Today is last day to amend so I've just pushed the 'go' button - having added the park heat and full size spare wheel as recommended! Thanks all.

Now to wait for April delivery and see how much the HSE has depreciated since November Very Happy
