[Wanted] 2010-2012 Sport HSE

Hi all,

Looking to buy my first range rover sport.
Specifically looking only for a restyled, post 2009 year car.
Ideally it would be a low mileage, stock TDV8 HSE with a good service history.

My budget isn't huge, but should be adequate for this year/condition and I might stretch it a little for a 2012 year model.
Will consider all offers and reply to all pm's promptly.

I live in Hampshire, Fleet, but prepared to travel.

Many thanks,
Eugene

Hi,

You won't get a 2012 TDV8 as I think they dropped that engine in 2010/11.

Cheers
Col

Cheers, yes I know.
I am looking not only for a tdv8 and will gladly consider all offers, be it a tdv6 or a supercharged petrol one.

Maybe somebody is selling on AutoTrader and hasn't listed here...
This way the car and the owner would be known to the forum, could be safer than buying a completely unknown car.

Welcome Eugene,

Fleet is a nice place, used to stay in a friend's penthouse apartment down there!
Anyway, might be selling my TDV6 if work doesn't improve in the near future, so watch this space ;-(

cheers
Simon

Is there anyone on the forum from that area?

Looks pretty tidy from the pics and a good spec. Like the interior colour. Not sure about those wheels though Wink
If it runs well with no rattles, and everything works, you can't go too wrong- just make sure you get a full warranty as well just in case. There are plenty of bods on this site that will know the pros and cons of the petrol V8.
Quite a hike from Fleet too...

It's also been for sale quite a while. I know when I was looking in Feb/March time it was up for sale then. Granted it's come down a smidge but must be something that's not appealing to folks. I know my OH disregarded it cause it was silver but there must be others who have viewed it. It's the cheapest one on Autotrader with decent millage too.

Could be because it's a 5.0L V8 petrol... you'd want to drive it every day, but could only afford the fuel for once a week Wink

I've seen a good few sold priced a few grand above than that with bigger millage. Saying that Saxtons also have a silver V8 with the same wheels since before Xmas still for sale. Black ones, Bali blue & Stornaway grey seem to sell better.

I drI've mines most days. If your not doing many miles a year or just long motorway drives it's ideal. We get 13mpg which is slightly better than one of our other cars and slightly worse than another.

Only you will Know if the fuel consumption will be a problem for you, and servicing and watch out for insurance costs of course.
Personally I don't like the wheels or not having privacy glass, but each to their own. I would get an independent vehicle check on condition etc such as RAC and ensure a good warranty, can be expensive beasts. Wink
Best of luck with your search, but don't rush into anything, there are plenty of good ones around, just try to decide what fuel, and finish and requirements you want and go from there. Smile John

Thank you all very much for your input and advice.
I've decided to go see it today. Will let you know how it goes.
The car has got outstanding finance on it and is marked as sorn.
I was told if I like it, finance matter will be dealt with right away.
Seller is also offering a 6 month warranty by Customer protect (gold plus) and he said if I didn't like that one he could buy any other similar one.
I've read mixed reviews about those warranties, but what do you think?

Warranty won't be worth the paper it is written on, just get one from one of the company's suggested/recommended by members on the forum.

Cheers

What's the verdict then, Eugene, was it worth the trip?

You are probably aware, but re outstanding finance, the best way is for you to pay it yourself as part of the deal (as long as it's not for more than the price of the car of course!) then at least you won't have any nasty surprises with a finance company kicking your door down to repossess the car!
Ditto the advice from Col for the warranty...

cheers
