Not this Censored again. Answer is the v6 is just as good and a whole lot cheaper. You cannot compare how they used to be when the 3.6 was miles better than the 2.7. Sales now speak for them self. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I have driven the SDv8 remapped and its crazy , quicker 50-70 than the 5.0SC , not had mine done, it's good as is in real world 30-50 50-70 etc for overtakes blah blah , the 3.0 you have to plan far more when pushing on with it. 2014 5.0SC AB

Gone 5.0 SC

SDV6 real world 27-31 , yes 4.4 real world 27 - 30 all based on mixed , motorway prolonged sdv6 34 SDV8 36, really see no real world lower fuel consumption. Wife drives the 3.0 90% of the time and she is very steady Smile
Only time the SDv8 uses more fuel is hi motorway speeds which of course i never do as that would be against the law !
Had a 2012 SDV6 Disco and that only made 27 max mixed real world with 20HP less !

as per usual on all the LR's the lie-o-meter is a farce on the dash Sad 2014 5.0SC AB

Gone 5.0 SC

Its the laws of physics - unless you use the V8's extra power difference for maximum acceleration then the 'everyday' energy needed is going to be pretty much the same for both cars (rolling resistance and aerodynamic drag) which will translate in similar fuel needs.

But the V8 does sound better Thumbs Up
