On/off road pack?

Just ordered SDV6 SE Sport down here in Aus. Was very tempted to go for on/off road pack as an option but decided not to. Now regretting not and maybe I'll change the order after the Xmas break. Anything above base model here comes with high/low transfer box which I believe is part of this pack in Europe. The pack is over $8000 here so all you would be paying for is Dynamic Response, Torque Vectoring ,Dynamic Programme and also includes eDiff. Seems very expensive. The car will do a bit off road and plenty on gravel roads.
Don't know whether to change my order or not.. Any thoughts?

Julian. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!
1983 2 door Range Rover ARB Bar X9000 winch ARB Rear Bar now semi retired.
Many big trips done in this one.
1982 Rangerover nearly restored.
22 Defender D250 with lots of stuff for outback touring
Nice 2013 Freelander TD4 manual (for daughter to learn on) with much better stereo compared with previous SD4 SE with Meridian which sounded bad!
2013 Land Rover Defender ute.

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I personally can not see a reason for owning a LR without a Hi/Lo ratio box, it's all part of the 'go anywhere' ethos of LR and I think that they have made a big mistake not fitting one as standard..........

High/Low Transfer box is standard on all models except base model TDV6 and Supercharged V6 here in Australia. From what I understand its an option on most models in UK. I agree with you that all LRs should have transfer box as standard. LR have probably sussed out that most never go into low range. SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!

I think when you start considering vehicles that do not have the High/Low range option then there are better options than RR IMO. I am looking at RR simply because it has the High/Low and is made to tackle something more than blacktop. Presently I own an R50 Touareg, great vehicle, the replacement is a V8 R line with no High Low , which when I start considering my requirements just doesn't cut it. If I was considering an SUV then the R-Line would be my choice in front of the RR.

Hi/Low is an option on anything without dynamic (so just 2 of the UK model line up).

Torque vectoring In the UK im sure comes with the ediff as part of the package. Mike

LR told me at the factory the the latest software on the engines/transmission almost kills the need for the low box on the SDv6

Torque vectoring - only on 5.0Sc and SDV8 i think but may be wrong, the active suspension is only on those 2 models i think as well 2014 5.0SC AB

Gone 5.0 SC

there will always be a need for low range - it would be worrying if anyone from land rover said that. Mike

Have changed my order to include on/offroad pack. Find out in May whether it was worth it.... SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!

Andorra 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

Had a blow out last year..... ay 125kph.......

I am convinced ..... the only thing ..... apart from my insanely good driving skills........

That stopped the wild fishtailing from turning into a life threatening roll.....

Was adaptive dynamics.......dynamic response ..... dynamic programme

Itīs one of the first things ticked on my options....

and yes it is bloody over priced.....

So itīs a big yes from me 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

I might be wrong, but the stuff that saved your life is the standard kit on all the line in the UK, the dynamic stuff is the stuff that you select and then throw it around corners quickly delaying/defying physics Mike

TBH.... I keep it on all the time........ and I just think it levelled out some of the body roll.......and made the car a tad more manageable......

It also gives me justification for paying all that money to go dynamic pack again..... heheh

Living half the year in the mountains...... anything that keeps the car stable.... is an absolute must for me..... 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

I find the pricing on these electronic options quite high. Needed for safety but the consumer sure is price gouged ! To think that these days nearly all these features come on Korean Vehicles as standard equipment ??
