Air Suspension Renewal

...does it make sense to change all 4 dampers at the same time?? Or is it just a waste of money, because they last almost a lifetime?? I got 100.000km on my RRS 2007. Any thoughts?

If you change the entire strut, air spring and shock should make a difference, but only if you have replaced worn upper and lower arms. Doing them yourself can be a bit of fun, should cost around £800.

Air suspension compressor

I have a 2007 RRS and for a while the wobbly vehicle orange warning sign has been on, about 2/3months ago a warning came up normal height only "suspension fault" but I was able to adjust suspension manually. Last week while driving home the warning has now started flashing and I cannot adjust suspension manually or remove the warning off the dashboard.
I have Been told it's the air compressor but also told to use a fixing kit first as these compressors are approx £600.
Can anyone shed some light or advise on what to do. Also recommend retailer that sells compressors.
Cheers leon

hello your issue may be an internal leak on your compressor, caused by a weak exhaust valve. My rrs started by intermittantly flashing up amber with the suspension fault. I fixed mine 2 years ago and not had any issues. Its also is worth checking the wiring in the front wheel arch. Just requires a few upgrades to the compressor, also it would be worth drying out the air dryer at the same time. The TSB below explains how to upgrade the compressor.

It is a fairly easy job if you have some decent tools and a small two arm gear puller (use it to remove and replace the exhaust valve cap) The below is the repair kit, can also be purchased from the dealers
