Picked up my new RRS last week, first RRS and so far really impressed... But

The Homelink is driving me nuts! I have a gate and a garage and both would seem to be straightforward to program - and I'm not a techno idiot- but I can't make anything work...

Any tips very grateful received!!!

Homelink does not work with all systems - perhaps you've been unlucky. 

2 ways of doing the homelink setup.

i have to use one for the garage and the other for my gate , not found a gate or garage yet that cannot be made to work with the homelink.

Also use button 1 for a single entry prog system IE does not have to be cycled and use button 3 for ones that need the cycling , not sure why this is but had the same since homelink on the 2009 car i had then 2013 on had to use B3. 2014 5.0SC AB

Thrilled you have such confidence! Are you just 'training' the Homelink from the various remotes? If so, any tips you have found about holding remotes near, inside/outside etc?

Any other tips you found helped?

yes just train them up , you need to know if the system remote you have is a cycle system or single link system that is about all you need to know , and follow the book on the 2 versions and as i said cycle remotes use button 3.

Also clear the stuff you have tried and make sure you start with a blank again in the manual clear all previous progs , Porsche and Audi homelinks same thing. 2014 5.0SC AB

I had a 2010 Sport then a 2012 FFRR with Homelink and both worked the garage door from button one. In fact any of the buttons can be programmed to operate a rolling code door, not just button 3.

The problem is usually getting the codes programmed into the Homelink in the first place, so make sure your remote battery is quite new then keep trying moving the remote around and move it closer. With luck the Homelink will accept the code from the remote before your arms drop off. Then put the garage door receiver into learning mode (usually a tiny red button to press) and press the selected button 3 time for a couple of seconds each time.

You did select a button on the Homelink first didn't you?

Another thing, isolate the power to the opener before starting then switch back on to put into learning stage ( which is only about 30 seconds by the way).

It's all in the handbook, it just needs persseverance.

Thanks everyone, new batteries ordered so I'll have another go at the weekend. Has to be said, apart from this the RRS is great so far!

i would stick with button 3 for 13MY onwards for rolling / cycling codes , did not have the same issue on My11 or 10 cars all buttons did the same 2014 5.0SC AB

Interesting that you were having problems when using buttons 1 and 2 with rolling code receivers. No mention in the handbook to indicate the buttons were different, still nothing surprises me once Land Rover have added their own modifications.
