Fuel burning heater; will it or won't it - the wait is over!

Finally - even in the limp-wristed soft shandy-drinking South East the temperature this morning was 3 degrees C and the little snow flake was showing on the dash. Started her up and waited.... thought I could hear a faint whirring noise in addition to the usual noises but disappointingly no signs of smoke billowing from the n/s wheel arch.

After a few minutes jumped out and had a look under the front (neighbours already convinced I am nuts anyway) and LO! a faint smell of kerosene and a heat shimmer around the FBH exhaust IT LIVES. Absolutely no smoke though so can only assume that exclusive use of premium fuel (Shell Nitro) and regular doses of Millers Diesel Eco Boost has kept everything lovely and clean. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Think mine is working ok, went out today and started the car , got out and could smell fumes from the front, but no smoke, so I am guessing its working .

I agree with you EndjinI. I can get into my Garage ,with an inch or two to spare. Thats when it was empty. So i would have to stay in the car all night to keep car warm. So afraid car will have to stay out in cold all night. And be warmed up by Timed Climate Control, which i have just had activated. So i can be warm on cold mornings itisme

^^ Rolling with laughter nice story.

When my house was built the garage was probably the right size for cars of the era like Ford 105Es but there is no way the Sport will fit in so instead the garage has a nice workbench and lots of tools and boys toys.

There's no room at the front to build a bigger garage but the rear garden is huge and potentially has access from a minor road. Soo..... how do I justify building a triple garage with enough height for a two post lift and a 'mezzanine' workshop? Probably just a dream never to be realised. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
