Catalytic convertor thefts on the rise.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24811143

Typically, 4x4 are easier targets because there's more space under them to get at the catalysts. I think the RRS is trickier to access than some, however, because it's quite low to the ground for a 4x4 and the transmission undertray is in the way too (I think).

However, best to be vigilant.

As an aside, I'd also recommend a RLD spare wheel protector to those who don't already own one. Cheaper than a replacement wheel and winch and extremely easy to fit. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Mike, the point wasn't that it was new, rather that it was on the increase. Look at the figures in the link and you see some very big increases. When sleepy counties are seeing 10-fold increases then one has to wonder... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

To be honest it was really popular on land rovers about 5 to 6yrs ago and tailed off I understand...I think its on the increase from the reduced amount - but there are lots a valuable metals in them.

For some reasons old version freelanders used to be targeted. Mike
