Have you driven the 3.0L sport If not, then go and have a test drive, then make your own mind up. TBH the newer interior alone makes it worth the extra £££'s imo. I wouldn't like to think that i was buying a cheaper sport only to have to throw a load of money at it just to keep it on the road due to it failing one way or another. However, you just might get a reliable TDV8. Its luck of the draw. Having said that, i have no evidence how reliable the 3.0L TDV6 is just yet as they are only around 3 years old. |

Yes they are all nice to drive, well the ones ive driven have been. And once you have driven one, you will wonder why you didn't get one before now. |

I don't know about your calculations but when you come to sell, the 3.0L is still going to be worth more than the V8. But only you can decide. I started off with a 2.7 TDV6 as a test vehicle for me to see if i could live with a sport day to day. (i was used to sports cars) I enjoyed the experience of the sport so 14 months later i bought the SDV6 and to be honest if i had to change my vehicle right now, i wouldn't have a clue what would match upto the sport. |

The SDV6 is so smooth from initial standing start right through the gears all the way upto 8th, and does it with ease. But you are considering the TDV6 which is different in the way that its got 6 gears and 10 bhp less than the SDV6 but its still an effortless nice drive. The V8 has more grunt with a nice exhaust note. You really need to arrange a test drive of both the TDV6 & the TDV8. Where abouts in Yorkshire are you? |

Hold on so there is a sdv6 and a tdv6 both 3.0. The tdv6 from 59 on then it went to a sdv6?

It was 2.7L until 2010 when the new D4 and RRS were launched. A new 3.0L. Engine came with the new models.
