Finally gone and done it!

Well after much consideration, I finally payed the deposit and now on the waiting list for a new RRS. I was meant to have another test drive today, but the dealers car had gone into limp home mode. Apparently there is a problem with the DPF!

Still haven't decided on colour yet, but I still have loads of time to play around with the configurator and make a decision.

Spec as follows;

HSE SDV6
Loire Blue or Ipenema Sand
Ivory interior (or cirrus?)
Panoramic sunroof
Piano Black trim
Privacy Glass
Deployable towbar

Still haven't decided about interior. What's the difference between Ivory and Cirrus? I'm guessing that cirrus is lighter, but I find it hard to tell between the two. Need to do some more research. Confused Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Gone but not forgotten:
2014 RRS2 SDV6 HSE in Loire Blue
2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE in Santorini Black

Congrats and welcome to the waiting list Smile Did your dealer gave you an ETA? Just being curious Wink

Cirrus is white/(very)light-grey-ish, while ivory is, well, ivory. I have picture of an interior (well, the door) of a RRS at the launch event. I'll try and post them here. Not the best pics maybe, but you'll get an idea.

EDIT: here they are:

Thanks for the pictures Baco. Bow down Dealer said that I hopefully should get the new car in March, if there aren't any more build issues. (Pano roof etc) But it could be easily April/May. Hopefully will know for sure by January.

Yes, will be sure to post lots of pics when she arrives. Thumbs Up Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Laughing Well it was a hard decision, as the FL2 has been a brilliant car. It's the best car I have ever owned. It still makes me smile when I drive it, and sometimes I wonder if I am doing the right thing. Confused

But when I walk I to the dealers and see an RRS sitting there, I just think what an amazing car it is. Can't wait for it to arrive! Very Happy Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

I've had FL2s as loan cars when my RRS has been in for servicing etc. If I'd never driven the RRS I'd have thought the FL2 was a really nice vehicle. But after the RRS it just feels a bit "low rent" in comparison (and I don't mean that to be insulting to the FL2). I reckon that once you've spent some time with your RRS you won't want to go back to the FL2... Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I agree to a point. I owned 2 FL2 GS from new and actually thought for the money they were brilliant Thumbs Up

When I spent twice the money buying a my10 rrs demonstrator I felt ripped off but now in the my13 I am a lot happier and would miss it if I went back to FL level although the extra cash jn the bank might help Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

This might end up being my first and last RRS, don't think my wallet could cope with buying a new one every 5 years! Shocked

This ones already going to cost me £63k, nearly double what I payed for my FL2. Big Cry Let's hope it's worthwhile! Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Simple: don't buy a new one every 5 years. Buy a second hand one every 4 years and save £thousands. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi Nick,

Dealer won't give me a valuation on the FL until the new car arrives, but if I were to sell it now privately, hopefully would get around £23-24k for it. Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more...
