You may be best of waiting to see what new cradle LR bring out then get that phone to go with it but by the time they do that the phone will be old RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

You'll need a phone that is old but not tooooooo old. If only they did one for my 6310i & I would be a happy bunny!

I used to have a 6230 when I got the car (and cradle), but have only recently got the 6280 since moving to 3. Unfortunately I spoke to some kind of retard on the phone and he said I didn't need to use the new phone if didn't want all the 3 features (which I didn't), so I went ahead with it - and of course, I can't use the 3 SIM in the 6230 so I can no longer use the cradle. The likelihood of LR bringing out a cradle for the 6280 is probably zero, so I'm a bit stuffed really.

I posted about this a while ago, but the upshot has been I can't use the 6230 on the 3 network even if I get the phone unlocked so I'm stuck using the 6280.... Evil or Very Mad

I think it's all to do with the aerial in the car picking up the 3G network if the don't pick it up then LR wont bring a cradle out for it.

Sorry I forgot to ask my bro about unlocking your phone for you before just asked now and he said that they can't be done Sad RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

well guys, ur not alone with the phone issues with LR..
Audi are equally as Censored ..

Both rs4 bluetooth weren't even working, and after a couple of visits, PaulL managed to get his sorted, and its working perfectly with his 8800 now, but mine still isn't. Not that annoying, but still £53k and something not working is something im not prepared to put up with.

Car is back in on monday, they should beable to sort it, as have asked bham to speak with manchester, and get this sorted out once and for all.
Cradles are existent for Censored phones as well, and of the older range should i say, so forget that. They keep trying to persuade me to put up with a cradle and an older phone.. but i have an 8800 coming too, so want to obviously use that, not some older phone that i don't want..

If the problem is that you can't use the cradle in the car why not buy a basic payg sim card and have the calls diverted when calls are not answered to the 6230 which will stay in the car? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

So you divert your main number to the car number every time you get in the car? And undivert it when you get out?

No I simply have my main number constantly divert to the car if I don't answer it, is out or reach, busy or switched off! If the diverted call is then not answered the call is then diverted back to the main phone's voice mail.

The only problem might be using 2 networks - mine works because the phones are the same network, your voicemail might not accept diverted calls from another network. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

OK, so you don't have to do anything with your main phone then? If it rings while you're in the car, you just ignore it until it diverts to the car phone?

Hmmm. So how does one go about getting a standalone PAYG SIM? From your current provider? I've never had a PAYG phone - does it cost you nothing but line rental if you don't use it?

You simply ask for a PAYG Sim card - usulally £5. You simply pay for the calls you make which will include those back to the other providers voicemail!!!!!!! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
