TDV6 or SDV6

I currently have a TDV6 on order (which is the 'tuned back version' of 211BHP), I've been checking out to have it tuned up though to give it 280-290BHP, which is about the power the SDV6 delivers. This will cost some money and therefor I wonder whether I shouldn't get the SDV6 instead.

Apart from the power, the TDV6 also misses the lo/hi gearing here. Although I probably won't be doing that much off-road stuff I am tempted to do that in time and then I wonder whether I'll be missing the lo/hi gearing (and the automatic Terrain Response 2 system). Does the lo gearing also help in like for instance snowy conditions?

So what do you guys think? Would you go for the SDV6? That's the 4K question (in euro's). Insurance is about 400 euro more expensive/year, so that's not that big an issue. Consumption is not that far apart, so not a big issue either.

Quite tempted to go for the SDV6 though, I'd hate to be sorry not to have done it, so any help is welcome.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Luxury Orkney Grey

I have heard that the TDV6 has been pushed back to end of Q2 2014 for earliest deliveries now, hints from my dealer indicate they may even drop the engine altogether. Worth checking with your dealer.

The TDV6 is only available in the SE spec, considering the HSE is already close to poverty spec and you cant add some essential options to the SE (currently like off road pack) i would get a SDVG in HSE guise Mike

SDV6 HSE with on road-off road pack or HSE Dynamic. Can't see the point of the TDV6 to be honest. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

+1

The real entry point is SDV6 dynamic at £65k. The £50k is a marketing ploy and I would be surprised they sell many if any. Same than Cayenne at £44k. Any basic one will clock very close to £60k and that's being VERY tight with extras.

I agree that the SE is a marketing ploy but I think they'll sell plenty of the cheap version to be honest. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've changed my order to a SVD6 with off-road pack already, I'm waiting for news back of my dealer to see whether this will cause a delay in delivery (mine was planned for december delivery). We'll see...
