Just like to say...

...thank you to very one that contributes to the forum.

I sold my RRS a few weeks ago now (and jumped into a Q7 4.2 TDI Shocked ) and I'd been meaning to just drop a little note of thanks to you all, so here it is! The forum helped me find my RRS, 'encouraged' me to do a few tasteful mods and helped me learn of little tips and tricks, such as how to turn the seatbelt chime off for example.

If anyone I know is thinking about buying a Sport, I always direct them to this site. Thumbs Up

Thanks again.

The wife wasn't pleased about me selling the Sport to be honest, but she is warming to the Audi the longer we have it.

I did really want to buy a RRS TDV8 but circumstances were against me; I did put a deposit on a one owner 57 plate TDV8 with factory rear entertainment but two days before I was due to collect, a turbo blew up... Whistle

With regards the Q7, it's an absolute beast; 330bhp and 560lbs/ft of torque makes overtaking a doddle which was my biggest gripe with the TDV6. It's very good on diesel as well; I get 30mpg at 75mph and about 20-23mpg around town.

Yes, same here, I mentioned at the weekend I was 'thinking' of changing (looking at an SQ5) and was met with strange looks and questioning of my decision Laughing not sure if I'll go through with it to be honest (or be allowed Laughing ) as I love my RRS dearly, but it's a niggling thought I have Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

its a ruddy great forum !
i was split between the Q7, Q5 and RRS. Went for the RRS but if I had gone for the Audi then it would have been the Q7 all the way ! Just imagine how it would feel pulling up to a Q7 in your Q5 Razz Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

Yes, only had a very quick test drive so far (I was passing as my dealer was shutting up and managed to get the keys for 30 mins as I know him well and he stayed late). I hope to get one one a longer loan at least half a day.

Initial impression was a sublime drive, performance is very well delivered and with the s-line suspension it corners very well - but lets face it its 95% road focused and 5% off-road, whereas an RRS is probably 60:40. Even Mrs Bean reluctantly likes it, but whether we actually pursue it further remains to be seen. I'm waiting on some 'numbers' from them so I'll see how they stack up.

Q7 although nice is just 'too big' for me, but the Q5 seems about right. I don't think it's fair to compare the RRS to a Q5 as they are not in the same market and the RRS will always win for prestige etc, but for me the SQ5 ticks a lot of boxes and does it substantially cheaper than an RRS. I think had there been an SQ5 out when I originally got my RRS I would have bought it instead without hesitation, BUT...... moving from an RRS to a 'Q5' (albeit a range topper SQ5) is a slightly harder proposition Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

They are a titanium-type finish so I'm told, look a lot different in the flesh. Whistle

I'm going to fit the Q7 V12 wheels I think, mine have got exactly the same size tyre so it shouldn't cost me too much... Laughing

That will look great with a change in wheel colour. Are you staying with the 21" or going 22"?

Here my old one with the OEM 21's

and the aftermarket 22's

I remember my 3.0 pulling like a monster......the 4.2 must be a beast!! Hope you enjoy it

Those are the ones I'm going for; they do them in an OEM 21" which is what is on at the minute.

I tried the 3.0 and it had ample power but I learned my mistake in not buying a TDV8 Sport and I wasn't going to repeat that. To put it into perspective, this V8 diesel has nearly TWICE the power of my old TDV6 and roughly 70bhp more than the TDV8's I was looking at.

I also found that the 4.2's came with a lot higher spec when looking, and I'm a bit of a spec junkie...

I quite like the SQ5, went to look at one the other week, just to be nosy, easier to swap a FL2 to a SQ5 than a RRS to one as the RRS would have to be old shape for me

But think the Q7 just look too big IMO
