i forgot to report, it was a $1.47 clip that went rather than the cable, something i would have thought
that Allianz roadside could have fixed Evil or Very Mad So it was off road for 4 days due to a basic
and fixable problem Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Only 3 trips on a flat bed? Pah your's is absolute beginner! Mine has spent so long on them that I know the towies by name and they have our address off by heart! Last time the towie's comment was that he was amazed that we hadn't burnt the car.
it was delivered on a flat bed on 27th, driven off and into the garage by the towie. We never even got to start/drive it before it was towed away again on 29th. Hopefully for the last time I will ever see it Evil or Very Mad SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

I am off to the dealer now to collect mine after it's third trip there on a flat top due to rodents eating wires twice before and a vacuum cable this time.

I have nothing but praise for the way each incident has been handled by LR. I still love my Sport and will be ordering an MY14 soon. Thumbs Up

And, yes, I have been to the supermarket and bought every type of mothball and baits for under the bonnet and in the garage. Here's hoping.

Hydronic, did we love the Sport to drive? Absolutely. Do we love it for the months spent off the road and the fact that we could never rely on it to work? Absolutely not. Unfortunately the not working regularly/reliably has been so often, caused so much aggravation/loss of trust etc that the car has to go. SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

Meccles sorry to hear that mate, and to be honest it is amazing that a
sub 2 dollar part can keep any vehicle off the road as i found out to my
expense... Wonder what the "experience" will be for the first draft of
MY14 owners Whistle hope you get the right outcome in terms of your
lemon Thumbs Up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Car makers do not seem to get the message.

Since the Coroner named VW in the death of the woman driving the DSG Golf, Golf, Jetta and Caddy new car sales are down 50% as the great unwashed vent their anger over the problem with these cars. VW ignored the issues are now suffering as a consequence - why would VW risk their reputation for quality, reliable cars on such a trivial issue as sorting out gearbox software. The family are yet to sue VW and this will bring further bad publicity to VW.

Unfortunately maybe someone needs to have a major life or death experience driving a RRS/D3/D4 for Landrover to wake up to themselves.

Garry my wife rolled down a hill with NO BRAKES shortly after the body off turbo repair. Pedal on the floor, no engine running (flat battery again!). Somehow she got it into park.
LR deny that this ever happened. SWMBO loved the RRS to drive. But how do you trust something after this, plus electrical problems, plus turbo failure, etc etc.
My bet is if she had hit something/someone then the conversation would be different. SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

The only way she would have had no brakes - for sure no power assistance - is if there was no fluid in the system (barring some other unlikely bit breaking).

Garry,
My guess is actually air in the system. They separated body from chassis for the repair. Car did almost nil miles before being left parked for 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks, pedal went straight to the floor. Several times. then when roadside assist turned up, they got a pedal. Understood no vacum/no engine/ no assistance. FYI SWMBO used to help me bleed brakes on my old Classic, plus other cars. And was married previously to a motor mechanic. She described the pedal exactly like we were bleeding it. A soft "squish" and then down. Whatever, they didn't work. She is pretty fit and strong so would/should have been pushing the pedal hard enough to have stopped the car on the slope even without assistance, which didn't happen. All moot at the moment however if someone had been behind the car... this would not have been good. Bow down SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile
