Heads Up Display?

My dealer's just sent me through the build spec for my car to finalise before it goes into being built in a few weeks.
I noticed my Autobiography build says:

(039IA) Less Heads Up Display.

Didn't see this as an option when building. Anyone know if it's a planned addition later in the model range?

No but if its an option, get it! I have a HUD (I don't have an RRS) and its just brilliant!

agreed it is a great option on other cars, sadly not available yet, dealer has no idea when it will be. It was mentioned in the initial press release. Also the phone app interface not yet available. Found on another forum a spec sheet fro a FFRR, it shows few soon to come options marked as "less", similar to HUD on yours: Lane departure, telematics unit (phone app), traffic sign recognition.

Yep, that looks very similar to my build sheet. Nice of LR to advise you that your top of the range car is going to be diffy several things, even if you were to tick every option box!

I wonder when these things will start to appear.

Hate to be a killjoy but a word of caution with HUD’s. They tend to be locally focused on the screen from my, admittedly limited, experience (Mercedes and aftermarket). This can cause a problem because your eyes don’t focus out at range.
Aircraft ones focus to infinity for this reason and are generally holographic. (=expensive) However I believe a Cambridge development company is working on a laser type projector. Sorry I don't know who they are.
Hope this helps.

I have HUD on my 5 series BMW. Works wonderfully and focus point is just beyond the bonnet so that you can see the road ahead through the display, but then change focus very slightly to read the display. Ordered on my next car and would have ordered on RRS if it had been available.
